Chapter 10

Emma's pov:

I literally cat-walk all the way out from the Grill feeling Hardin's eyes on my back.

"That guy's such a catch!" Caroline chirps. I grin widely.

"Well, you can thank me later."

"Hey, I'm still pissed that you're going with my boyfriend!" Caroline shoots me a look.

"Come on, Care. Bitches before boys, remember?" I smirk as Caroline rolls her eyes causing me to laugh. But it quickly fades away as I see a familiar male back. My hands clench at my sides as he turns and jogs up to me.

"Go away." I say and try to walk past past him but he tries to hold up a hand in front of me. "Emma, I-"

"Stop it you dick!" Caroline snaps at him. That's my bestie. Tyler glares at her before dropping his hand and opens his mouth to say.

"No, Tyler. Just stop. I don't want to hear your lameass apologies. Stay the hell away from me and stop harassing my brother. Do you get it?" I yell in his face pushing past him. Caroline wraps her arm around me as we walk off.

"Damn, I feel good. Really good." I say.

"Hitting him in the face would have felt better though." Caroline laughs and I join her.

"By the way, you can take Damon. No ill feelings." She starts business-like. I shake my head at her.

"Care, how much do you know him? What about your mom? Is she ok with you dating Damon?"

"And I'm supposed to care why?" Caroline rolls her eyes.

"He's older sexy danger guy. Perfect Serial killer vibe." I shrug. Hardin is no less, my subconscious reminds me.

"Definitely my type." Caroline says amused.

"You wanna get killed?" I shake my head at her.

"No. But Damon's not a serial killer. You know, he just has a lot of issues with his brothers. You know, like major, deep-rooted drama." She defends him.

"Like...?" I raise my brows.

"I'm not really supposed to say anything..." She says looking a little confused.

"Caroline Forbes, when have you kept a secret in your life?" I say pushing her to spill everything.

"Okay, you can't tell Elena." She gives in finally.

"Fine with me. Go on." Now I'm getting excited. What is it all about?

Caroline smiles and tells me all about the Salvatore Brothers fued.

As I walk inside my house, I see Jeremy sitting on couch grinning up at me.

"That grin should come up often." I smile.

"A guy from school told me that you yelled in Lockwood's face outside the Grill." He says.

"And that felt good!" I beam walking up to him and he stands up reaching out ruffling my hair. "That's my sis."

"Hey, watch out. I'm not a guy. You ruined my hairstyle." I glare smoothing my hair and he walks away laughing. Brothers! I roll my eyes.

I walk into the kitchen and see Bonnie and Elena sitting at the table checking out nail polishes.

"Tough call. Can we mix them?" Elena's saying.

"Look at you, getting all pretty for your date. You seem happy-ish." I smirk and hop myself up on the counter.

"I am...ish. Tonight's going to be a good night." Elena smiles. "Why don't you go with Bonnie tonight?"
