Chapter One
The fallen leaves zoomed by quickly outside the car window. It was all a blur to twelve year old Annabella Price. She stared into the distance watching doe prance around in the dusk lighting. She wasn’t sure what being in the more rural part of Elmore Township would be like.“ It’s gonna be nice, Hon. Don’t be a worrier…” her father trailed off, obviously worrying, himself. “ Hypocrite.” Annabella said with out taking her eyes away from the outside world.. She was pretty sure it would be the last she would see of it for a while. “Hmm.” He sighed and rubbed the top of her hat, causing the poof- ball to wiggle. Annabella finally turned around to see her six year old sister, Ginny sleeping in the back seat. When she turned back they were on a dirt rode in the center of dense trees. After a few minutes of silence and driving they pulled into the driveway that circled around a water fountain that looked like water hadn’t even spewed from it in a hundred years. The castle-like, Victorian structure was huge and old looking. “ How do ya feel about it, Sweetie?” Annabella’s dad asked, hoping for his critical, picky daughters approval. “Ecstatic.” She looked at him and rolled her eyes, obviously being extremely sarcastic. They all got out of the car and Annabella paused and stood there for a long time, staring at the house, attempting to figure it out. “Let’s get inside !” her dad said enthusiastically. So, Annabella went to the trunk of the car, grabbed her big suitcase and her bag and headed up and into the house.
