You sigh; tugging at your white apron tied around your waist and tucking lose strands of hair that have found their way out of your (B/P) long braid, and into your freezing face behind your long Hylian ears.  You sat on a frozen log in the woods wanting some time to yourself because right now, your life was a little hectic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You lived with your mother.  Your father was killed when he was guarding the castle when it was invaded. (A/n: your dad was a hylian guard…) Now it was just you and your mother.  To gain and make money your family had a farm, growing crops every year when it got warm and raising life stock.  But years passed and you and your mother aged.  You forced her to stop working and you took all the work upon yourself.  And of course fate and lovely Mother Nature like to make your life as stressful as possible so they decided to make the summer/ farming season flooded with rain so all of your crops were over watered and died.  Plus, add the fact that the castle still had to make money and with all the commotion going on they had to raise taxes on your village.  Slowly, you and your dearest mother were getting poorer, sicker and hungrier.  More than half of your livestock was gone considering you could barely feed yourselves let alone your animals.  Then you met Malon.
At first sight you knew she would mean well.  She was averagely tall for her young age, her red-orange hair falling to her waist and beautiful blue eyes full of love and care.  She had seen you before knowing that your father and hers had a farm and sold their goods at the market on the weekends.  You two were the greatest friends ever since you were such young children.  She helped you now with your farm, mother and finances; and you helped her out when Ingo took over the ranch.  You each had each other’s back knowing no one could get in the way, and that life could never get any worse…
During the time Hyrule was taken over, you and your mother were forced out of your sweet little village.  Malon and her father had taken you two in once the ranch was taken back from Ingo and all was amazing.  And you knew Hyrule would be saved; just by your eyes meeting his.
In the time of the invasion, while you still lived at the ranch, every now and then a young man would come and visit.  In your mind the first word or phrase that popped in your head was simply: “breathtaking”. He was relatively tall, golden blonde messy hair under a green hat, ears pierced and the most beautiful blue eyes you had even seen that would put the sky to shame.  He was great friends with Malon and her father.  He met your mother but not you.  You were so shy; he was so perfect. Strong, kind and openhearted, were just a few words that described him.  Why would he want to be friends with you? At least Malon was pretty. But you; you were weak, poor, so distant from others. Not to mention that the years of work and every chore you did made you feel so skinny, ugly and unfeminine.  Your (e/c) eyes were now just dull empty pools and your skin was so pale even from all the sun you got. (h/c) colored hair that was naturally messy so it stuck out in many directions, but manages to tame the soft locks with a white cloth used as a bandana.  Whenever you saw your reflection you got sick to your stomach.  How on earth were you the daughter of such a beautiful couple? Such a handsome father (at least from what you remember) and a beautiful mother with such a gentle smile that warmed your heart had gotten this excuse of a daughter.
You got up from the stump and walked by the river while ridding your face of the left over tears. (A/n: And it’s not frozen ‘cuz the Zoras do what they want Beeyotch!)  Starring at your horrid reflection tear or two gracefully slid down your pink checks once again.
“(y/n)?” someone asks.
“Oh, hello Malon”, you reply turning around. You see Malon running towards you a jacket in one hand and someone’s arm in the other…
“(Y/N)!!!” Malon screams as she pulls you into a death-defying hug.  “(y/n) we were so worried! You have been gone for so long and didn’t even bring a jacket!” Malon released you allowing yourself to catch your own breath while Malon handed you the spare jacket.
“Malon, what do you mean by ‘we’-“ you were caught short when you saw whose arm it was that Malon kept pulling along when she found you.  You then burned fifty shades of red.  The blonde hair, the green tunic, the hylian shield……those eyes.
“(Y/n); there’s someone who has wanted to meet you for a very long time.”
