Men. Friend or Foe?
Chapter One
"Bye Cindy!"
"Bye Amanda! Wait, are you walking home?" Cindy asked
"Yes. I don't have any cash for a taxi." I was on my way home from the office. I had to work overtime. Again...
"Here take this. I want you to get home safely. There's an escaped serial rapist on the loose. What's his name? You know what, it doesn't matter. Just take the money and call a taxi." Cindy tried to shove a wad of bills into my hands.
I thought about what she said. But I couldn't take the money. i only lived three blocks away and i have a black belt in tae kwon do. Plus I'm not too comfortable borrowing money from Cindy. Even if she is my bestfriend...
"Cindy, i can't take your money. You know how I am. I can't. But don't worry about it I'll be fine. i live three blocks down the street." I tried to tell her. She didn't look convinced, but she took the money back.
"Fine. Don't take it. Just take a bottle of pepper spray and my safety siren. Oh and my pocketknife. You want my duct tape too? You can never go wrong with duct tape." Cindy shoved everything but the knife in my purse. She put the knife into my front coat pocket. Goodness, i swear this girl is like a walking emergency supply store.
I let her fuss over me for a while longer. After a five minute lecture on street safety and self defence, I bid her ado, and left the building.
I as i started walking my thoughts wondered over to Jack. Jack Humphrey was the cutest guy at the office. He had the most perfect hair, figure and his was always finely dressed. Cindy thought he was gay. I do too but, he's just to damn hot for me to give up on.
While i was thinking about how cute Jack's butt was, I didn't hear the thundering foots steps coming from behind me until it was too late. I turned and saw three men running towards me. I tried to run but it was no use. I was dragged into the nearest alley way. My clothes were ripped off my body. I screamed as loud as I could but no one seemed to hear me.
"Shut up bitch!" one said. He seemed to be the one in charge. He was standing over me as the other two held me down.
i continued to scream. I fought against my captors but once again it seemed like there was no point. He began to drop his pants. Then the pain started. I screamed bloody murder. even though i wasn't being murdered it was still bloody. Once he finished another once started and then the other. This was the worst feeling i've ver experienced. The leader was about to go for another round when a voice from the entrance to the alley way spoke up.
"Step away from the victim and put your hands up!"
My saviour. There were about six police officers who came to my rescue. I was grateful but I still cringed when a male tried to help me up. He soon realized what was the problem. I was afraid and in shock. He spoke into his shoulder radio. I didn't hear what he said. A female paramedic followed by a female officer soon came to my aid.
I was wrapped in a blanket and whisked off to the ambulance. I was strapped to the gurney and taken to the hospital.
