It was early in the morning. Rain poured down the windows. I laid in bed, stuck awake listening to the sound of the rain. I got up, tired of just laying there. I walked to my kitchen, noticing the time, and got a small snack. Might as well do something productive while I'm awake, I thought. I walked down the corridor to my office, then to my laptop. It was dark and the rain was pouring down in buckets. I sat down in my chair and placed my headphones on my head, trying to block the sound of the dreaded rain. I opened the laptop, a bright screen greeting me to begin work. Once I got my music on, I began to work. Many people called me a workaholic, but I barely listened, usually because I was busy doing work. Even with my headphones on, the rain could still be heard. I tried to ignore it, but with each occasional boom of thunder, I couldn't. I turned my music up a bit louder, hoping it would hide the sound of the rain hitting the ground outside. For the most part, it didn't. I turned my attention to the work on my screen. A simple document. Just a few pages. All that had to be done was revise and edit it. Then it could be sent to the higher ups. It wasn't due till the next month, as it was just barely assigned to me. But me being, well me, had almost finished it within a couple of days. The higher-ups didn't necessarily like that I somewhat 'rush' my work, but are always pleased with the results. Im stoped in the middle of my thoughts as more thunder can be heard. I took a deep breath, saved my work, and closed my laptop. Just a few more hours till the sun rises, I though. I laid back in my chair, clearing my mind and falling asleep.
