Chapter 2

AJ's alarm went off. She turned it off and got up to do her normal routine. Feed the dogs, brush teeth and change, take the dogs for a walk, then get ready for work. She was late this morning because she stopped to get some breakfast.

"Just because you own this place doesn't mean you can be late Missy.", David said jokingly.

"Funny. Hey listen, Sun-Ja has the day off today so if I need help...", AJ started.

"You got it. If you need help I'm here.", David said.

"Thanks love. I'll be in my office.", AJ said and went to her office.

AJ finished decorating her office and then got down to some paper work. Which there was quite a lot of. She did'nt realize that opening her own store would mean so much paper work. At about one her phone went off.

"Ariel Jones.", she answered.

"Danielle Winters here, how about some lunch or are you too busy today?", Dani responded.

"Cute. Sure just let me finish up here and we'll meet at Sushi on Fire in 10?", AJ asked continuing to fill out some paper work.

"See you then.", Dani said and hung up the phone.

AJ finished up what she was doing and then left after telling David to call her if McKenna showed up before her.

"Hey doll!", Dani called after seeing AJ walk towards the restaurant. They both walked into the restaurant and were immediately seated. They both ordered water with lemon and looked over the menu.

"How's the store coming along?", Dani asked.

"It's coming along great. You should check it out sometime. How's the internship coming along?"

"Great... I'm loving it. Although with work and an internship under my belt I haven't had much time to myself. I just wish that I could finish these last few courses so I can get out of real estate.", Dani explained. Dani was a real estate agent because it was her parents dream for her. She really wanted to be a vet tech.

"Are you both ready to order?", the waiter asked.

"Yeah, I'll take the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura.", AJ said handing the waiter her menu.

"And I think I'll have the Seaweed Salad. So how did dinner with your dad go the other night?", Dani said also handing the waiter her menu.

"Ah. Well, he brought his new girlfriend."

"Really? How's this one?", Dani asked taking a sip of water.

"Her name is Aubrey and she's 24. She's blonde with a terrible fake tan, fake boobs which were nearly falling out of her top, and she has the IQ of a 6 year old. Need I say more?"

"That's disgusting. I mean he's dating a girl younger than his daughter.", Dani said in disgust.

The waiter brought their food over.

"Every time we get together it just gets worse every time. He always has to complain about my career choice. Then we sit there in the most awkward silence and eat. Like a normal father would ask how's life, I'm so proud of you, I'm glad you finally moved out to Cali but I'm stuck with a narcissistic asshole.", AJ explained.

"Hey, at least you have a father, even if he is a dick. I would give anything to have my dad back.", Dani said.

The two continued to talk while eating lunch.
