Notes: Ok, y'all will probably hate me for this, as I just came to know this ship isn't actually very popular around here. I haven't seen the anime or read the novel, but what can I do when the live-action drama just made me ship them so damn hard? I do not see them like siblings at all, sorry. So here I am getting this scene out of my system. It's not much a story as it is a concept. Hope you enjoy, though.

"You are getting predictable, you know," Su Mucheng announced. "I knew I'd find you here. And I did."

Ye Xiu turned from the window just enough to offer her a smirk.

"More like you went to the kitchen to drink some water, saw the light on and decided to check if it was me. You are the predictable one; you always forget to leave something to drink in your room."

Despite the teasing, his eyes told that he knew better. Neither of them was predictable really; they just knew each other too well. So when she tried to hide her smile by asking what he was doing there and not in bed when they had early morning training next day, he found no reason to hide the truth. The thoughts he wouldn't let anyone but her come to know so bluntly.

It was late, everybody was asleep, and, yes, they did have early morning practice. But they just kept talking.

If asked later, neither of them would be able to tell exactly how much time they spent like that — rambling about any and everything when the main topic got exhausted. Or when the distance between them became nonexistent.

Sometime amidst words, they got close. Really close. Like shoulders-touching, breaths-mingling close. And it was comfortable.

Intimate.

So when she leaned in to his mouth it felt right. As if having her lips brushing on his for a few seconds — no tongue, no hands — was the direction this night should head anyway.

He didn't resist nor did he take further action when she pulled back into place and asked a question about what they were discussing before. He smiled and took his time to answer, never taking his eyes off of her.

They talked more; the so called kiss as if it had never happened.

Except that when she showed signs of start walking — probably back to her room — he pulled her in by the wrist, very lightly. Just enough to bring her face to be once more centimeters away from his.

"You can't just walk away without being properly answered," he said.

"And what would that answer be?"

What could the answer be?

He kissed her again, more intently this time but just as tender. His hand moved from her wrist to her neck, tangling itself in her hair, while the other one cupped her face. She did the job of pulling closer as her fingers tightened around the front fabric of his shirt.

Again, right. And natural. As if they were used to taking each other's breaths like this every other day.

He had long shaken away the feeling that she was like a little sister. She was the girl he treasured the most in the world, yes, but not in that way. At least, not with the thoughts he was having about her right now. He saw her for what she became: a woman. Strong and beautiful in all her force. His partner in the game and in life.

This kiss didn't count as an answer even, as neither of them had actually expected otherwise. It was a statement of a feeling that had been there for too long, bound to emerge at some point.

They would've gone on and on, deeper and deeper, but a clumsy sound made them break apart.

A chuckle came out of her when they saw Wei Chen and Chen Guo passing on the other side of the room, a few meters away. They were talking in whispers — apparently arguing, but in the way only couples do — and failed to notice Ye Xiu and Su Mucheng on the farthest corner. And then they were out of sight.

"Tsc, tsc," Ye Xiu commented first. "Perhaps I should set some rules about not dating team mates."

"Is that right?"

"Any objections on this matter?"

"Not on my part. I just think it would be a pity for Tang Rou and Wen Yi. They have been glancing at each other quite a lot lately. Wei Chen and Chen Guo would be fine, though; he is retiring next year and they have his house to sneak to."

He chuckled in that adorable way of his that forced his eyes shut. Then he embraced her waist. "You and me?"

"Oh, we would be fine too." She put her arms around his neck. "It would be just like a game."
