My Adventure

I woke up in my nice warm bed. It was so early. I didn't want to get up. Today was my first day of 6th grade. I was so nervous. I had no clue who would be in my class. I was anxious to find out. I sprawled out of bed and got dressed. As I ran outside to catch the bus, I look at my phone. It was 6:56 am. Wow. I barely caught the bus. As I get on the bus I was shaking. I was now on the bus with the high schoolers so I was expecting it to be scary. I look and I don't see anyone that I know. I just find an open seat and sit down. I was on my way to my brand new school.

As we arrived at school, I looked at the piece of paper in my hand. It said Mrs. McDonald on it. That was my new teacher, my 6th grade teacher. I walk into the huge school and look around. As I walk down the hall, I see everyone walk down to their new homerooms. I see my classroom. As I walk in, I see no one I know. I was scared. I was terrified.

I sit down at the seat that says my name on it. A boy walks in and sits down next to me. He looks at my desk. "So it's Mia," he says. "Ya." I look at his desk. "Hey Jake," I say confidently. We started talking about how the year was going to be. As the bell rings, the teacher walks in. I see Jake's face. It looks disgusted. He whispers, "She looks mean." But the one rule I follow is don't judge a book by its cover.

In science, she gave us partners."The person sitting next to you will be your science partner when we work in partners. We won't be changing seats unless me have to do get use to them," she says joyfully. I could already tell Jake hated her. I could see it in his eyes. His brown eyes that shine bright looking at the teacher, rudely. Why didn't he like her? She wasn't actually such a bad teacher. She was pretty nice if you ask me. I knew this year would be nice.

As we got more into the year, Jake and I became closer friends. We exchanged numbers and started texting all the time. We got an app called oovoo which you face talk. We would do it all the time. I started calling him my best friend. He was really nice to me and really funny. It was kind of like he didn't exist, like I was dreaming. It was to good for him to be true. But turns out I wasn't dreaming. 6th grade was just beginning.

One night, I got a text from a number that I didn't recognize. It said it was Mrs. McDonald but I knew it wasn't. Turns out it was one of Jake's friends from New York. Her name was Ivy. She was really nice. We became really good friends too. Ivy was funny, sweet, kind, and she was my friend. One of my best friends.

At the end of the year, Jake was considered my best friend. He was one of the only person I texted. I did anything for him. He was so smart too. 6th grade was one of my best years because of him. Jake was the best person in the world at that time. He was the only guy who was nice of me, the only friend I had that was a guy.

The last day of 6th grade was really fun. We may have been leaving for summer and I wouldn't see Jake until next year, that day was one of the best days of my life. I watch Jake walk into the classroom. His brown eyes glimmer in the light. His brown hair that was a hockey cut wips across his forehead. He walks up to me and says hey as I say hi back. We had so much fun that day.

As the bell rung, I said goodbye to him and a tear ran down my face. I knew I wouldn't see him until 7th grade and he goes to the cape so I wouldn't see him around either. That was it. 6th grade was over. One of the best years in my life was over. I was glad I met Jake. I was going to miss him, but I think that journey I took was the adventure of a life time. And every adventure has to end at some point.
