Keith had just arrived back at the castle after meeting with a prince from a foreign land. Eager to see him, you hurry your way through the castle. Once outside, you smiled happily as you saw Keith. Keith smiled back at you as traversed towards him. You were just a few feet away when something you never expected to see appeared from behind the car. A great big lion had slowly made it's towards Keith stopping you in your tracks.
You gulped as you stared at the lion, "Ah... K-Keith...?" You said taking a few steps back.
"Don't worry. He won't hurt you." Keith assured you as he walked towards you with the lion following behind. "R-really?" Even after Keith assured you, you didn't feel any safer as you tried to take a few more steps back but Keith grabbed you by the wrist pulling you towards him, he began speaking softly in your ear, "I told you it's okay. His name is Leo. The prince asked if I could watch after him for a little while. He is rather attached to me it seems." Keith gave you a quick squeeze as he kissed you, "I've been wanting to do that since I arrived." Keith smirked, he then looked towards Leo, "Why don't you pat him?"
Your eyes darted between Keith and Leo, "P-pat him...?" You bit your lip, you trusted Keith but you couldn't help your nerves still getting the better of you. Seeing how you were still unsure of the lion, Keith took one of your hands and rested it on top of Leo. "See? He likes it." Keith said as Leo started to purr, "He feels so soft." Your eyes grew wide from the sensation of the lions fur against your skin. Holding onto your hand, Keith started moving it up and down the lion in a petting motion. Before long your fears melted away and you were smiling as you petted the lion.
"What does Luke think of the Lion?" You asked curiously. Keith snorted at the question seeming to remember something, "They have what you call a love-hate relationship." You raised an eyebrow not quite understanding what he meant. "You'll see soon enough." Keith said and led the lion into the castle. The staff weren't impressed by the fact Keith had brought a lion to the castle, anytime it got close to them they would quickly vacate from the area which Keith found amusing.
"Haha, look at them all running away from you Leo. Such scaredy-cats." Keith chuckled as he proudly walked with Leo besides him. You rolled your eyes and then it occurred to you Luke was nowhere to be seen in fact you hadn't seen him once since Keith had gotten back. You were going to ask Keith but decided not to as he probably wouldn't tell you anyway.
That night you ate alone with Keith in the dining room with Leo being the only other presence in the room. No one dared come near him even if Keith said it was okay. It was finally time for bed, you both changed into your pajamas and climbed into bed. "What an interesting day." You said thinking about everything that went on after Leo had arrived. Keith chuckled turning on his side to look at you, "I quite enjoyed it. It's good to change things up every so often." While you didn't mind something different you never imagined to go so far as parading a lion around. You were getting ready to go to sleep when Keith inched closer to kiss you but was stopped when something had jumped up on the bed.
"Ahhhh!" You screamed at the sudden weight on you. Even Keith looked to be in shock, "Leo, get down!" Keith scolded the lion and got him off the bed. Keith grumbled as he got back into bed this time giving you a kiss goodnight before you both drifted off to sleep.
Early next morning you were both fast asleep and oblivious to the knock on the bedroom door. The door quietly opened up and there was Luke peering into the room. He slowly walked over to the bed and saw you both sound asleep. Luke failed to take notice of the sleeping lion besides the bed as he was about to wake you both up but was stopped when he suddenly saw Leo looking straight at him. " Wha?? Why the heck did Keith sleep with him..." Luke gulped as he slowly made his way out of the bedroom but it was too late, Leo followed after him and the chase was on.
Luke screamed as he run through the castle with the lion in tow, no one offered to help him as they were too scared and instead locked themselves in different rooms as Luke ran by. Some time had passed before you and Keith finally noticed the ruckus going on in the castle. You both looked around the room and noticed Leo was missing and the bedroom door was wide opened. Your eyes grew wide, you worried just what might be going on out there, Keith looked equally shocked.
You both didn't even bother to get changed as you bolted from the bedroom and before long came across Luke chasing after Leo which not long before had been the other way around. "Luke! What's going on?" You called out but Luke didn't stop to talk, "Leo is causing havoc throughout the castle we have to stop him!" Luke yelled out as he took in deep breaths, he looked ready to pass out. Leo on the other hand seemed to enjoy being chased by Luke as he leaped about joyfully as he ran through the castle.
You looked troubled as you turned to Keith, "You have to stop him. You said he likes you right? So he should listen to you." Keith nodded his head, it was true Leo should stop if Keith can get to him and so you both ran off in Luke's direction.
"Leo!" Keith shouted as he caught up to Leo after having surrounded him. Leo immediately sat on the spot. "Good. Stay still." Keith said as he began to pat Leo on the head but he didn't stay still for long.
"Hey, I said to stay still!" Keith shouted but Leo ignored him as he found something more interesting than Keith. There on the floor was Luke who had passed out after being chased and then doing the chasing for hours on end. Leo slowly approached Luke and sniffed him a few times before laying himself right besides Luke falling asleep alongside him.
Keith's mouth hanged opened he couldn't believe it, Leo chose Luke over him. You giggled placing a hand on Keith's shoulder, "Don't they have the perfect relationship. They are so cute snuggled together like that." You said though Keith wasn't amused, "Whatever..." Keith huffed as he turned away not wanting to show how miffed he looked.
Keith didn't want to believe the lion had used Keith all this time because it was Luke the lion liked and not him much to Luke's dismay. Luke was happy when Leo finally went back home as he no longer was being chased or doing the chasing and could finally relax once more within the castle. After going through that ordeal any task Keith put before him now felt more enjoyable and he was happy he was Keith's butler and not the butler to the prince who owned the lion...
