The forgotten lovers

Hidden in the woods.

There once was a tale.

Not many had heard.

Now forgotten.

Hidden in the stars

There is a myth

Of two lovers

Long forgotten.

Hidden in the waves

There is a tale of desperation

If you listen closely

The ocean will speak

And tell the tale once forgotten

Of the two lovers

As the sun loves the moon

And as the waves love the sailors

These two lovers thought that they were all they had

Never once forgetting the other

Nor befalling into anger

They cherished each other

As a woman my cherish her husband

Though this is no ordinary tale

For they could only meet in secret or else they'll be killed.

For those who wrongfully listen to the lies

Spread by the church.

They would say it was a sin

If they caught those two lovers

Hidden in the winds

Was it wrong for them to love?

As though they were monsters

Simply for loving

This tale of two lovers is nothing so sweet

For being tossed in the sea, with nothing but each other.

You start to see

That maybe loving is a sin

For as a man may love a woman

A woman may not love a woman.

And a woman may love a man

But a man may not love a man

And so these two lovers were lost at sea

With nothing but hope

And a dash of hate

For this tale of two lovers is anything but sweet.

For you see, these lovers were killed

For simply loving.

And loving may seem sweet

But in the end

It shall be their downfall

And as the priests tried to cover this tale

The wind and leaves

The ocean and the waves

The stars and the moon

The sun and the clouds

The woods and the dirt.

They all know the story

Because they helped create

This simple love

That was denied to so many

For so long
