This second after Kayla gave Maddie the bionics, she lurched to the floor in a fit is spasms. Maddie's mom showed a look of shock and concern, while Layla grinned. The mother glared at Layla, but she was too preoccupied to notice. She knew exactly what was happening. Inside Maddie's brain, sparks were emitting like fireworks, bouncing off her skull. Maddie clutched her head in pain. Her mother looked at Layla as if she could stop this somehow. Layla knew that this was normal in some situations, however there have only been two other cases like this. The electronics find their way to the cranium and activate all unused parts of the brain, while enhancing the others. Maddie's bionic ability was intelligence.

The body guards marched up to the boss grasping a small child in their abnormally large hands. They shoved him forward like he was a used toy they no longer wanted. "That's the last of 'em." Sledge blurted.

"Exellent." The boss mused, "Now onto part 2." He held up a remote from his desk. With the click of a button, a holographic screen popped up. "Excellent," the boss said once more as he rose to his feet, "Bring me the plans."

Maddie finally sat up after several minutes of extreme pain. Once she regained her self awareness, she noticed her mother and Layla talking. But she couldn't quite make out what they were saying. She focused on them, inching forward as herhearing capability increased. She moved closer, and closer, u til her face met the wall with a great force. She stood, startled for a moment.  She knew she could see them, but there was a wall in front of her saying that she couldn't. She decided not to worry about it, a d instead find out what bionic ability she has. Bionics, when put in the blood stream, release a chemical reaction adhancing certain abilities. "Hmm..." Pondered Maddie to no one in particular, "Maybe I have super strength." She tried picking up the couch, but to no prevail. One down, three to go. She ran across the room, still as slow paced as usual. She tried to put all her willpower into turning invisible. If there were anyone watching her, they would have thought she was constipated. Then she realised the only ability left is intelligence. This is a very rare ability. Only two out of nine thousand seventy-two people have it. The first is a professor at W.D.C, and the second person is a three time Nobel prize winner. She couldn't believe it. She was as smart as them now! Just. Week ago, she didn't even know the difference between five squared and the square root of five. But now, every equation was clear to her. Unfortunately, all this sudden realisation was too much for her, so the head-splitting migraines were back. Maddie held her head in agony.  Not again! Layla casually walked up to her, then stopped and smiled. Is she glad I'm in pain? Maddie thought. "Ahh, intelligence." Layla let out a slight chuckle. "Always a price to pay for bionics. Only a few hours of headaches and then you'll have unlimited bionics."

"A few hours?!" Maddie exclaimed "It's barely been twenty minutes!"
