Wednesday. The middle of the week. Two more days until the weekend.
In Spanish, I was thinking the entire time about the next hour. Yesterday, I got the impression, Tyler and Collin weren't best friends. I hoped we would still pull off our project. Both are alphas, and I'm probably a gamma or something.
After Mrs. Cortez dismissed us, I slowly walked towards Mr. Stein's classroom. It was just a few doors away, but I tried to stretch the time as long as I could.
I entered the class anxiously. "Hey River, I hope your practice went well." Mr. Stein smiled brightly at me.
"Yes, thank you again for letting us stay here," I answered and forced a smile on my face.
"Not a problem."
I walked to my old-new seat, behind Collin, and now beside Tyler as well.
Both of them weren't here yet, so I allowed myself to calm my breath.
A few seconds before the bell ring, the rest of the class entered and took a seat. With them, Collin and Tyler.
"Hey River," Tyler greeted me and took his seat next to mine. Collin didn't say anything as he sat down.
"Alright, class. Keep working on your mini-presentation. If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask me."
There was a lot of noise when the students turned tables and chairs to face each other.
We started working as well. It felt somehow awkward. Collin was rather quiet and Tyler tried to make as many suggestions as possible. At the end of class, we gathered all information and I promised to put it together in a PowerPoint while Tyler would work out a quiz to make our little presentation not too lame and 0815.
Moving on to Choir. With singing Time Wrap, I could let off steam. I mean, I still hadn't figured out how and why my life turned the way it did.
"Not for very much longer."
I sang and it felt good. I felt better after leaving Choir to get to lunch. Since Thomas and I were friends again, I assumed we'd get lunch together. But I didn't spot him.
"River." I heard a dark voice behind me. I turned around. Collin approached me, around him were three cheerleaders who looked at me suspiciously. They'd make quite a picture. If some model companies could see this...
There were really too many gorgeous humans at this school. That's rough for the rest. I mean, for me.
"Yes?"
"Go ahead," he told his beautiful companions. They squinted their eyes at me but chose not to say something.
"Yes?" I asked again.
"I have a question regarding the script," he stated.
"Then go ask Thomas. He is responsible for the script," I said bluntly.
"No, I'm asking you. Now," he said slightly pressed.
Well, alright then. I rolled my eyes in my mind. I didn't dare to do this in front of Collin.
"Sure, then ask." Not in the mood to argue.
He looked around as if he was scared someone could notice he talked about drama class or showed any kind of interest.
"In Act I, Scene IV, James suddenly starts to notice Lily around the school and tries to find ways to talk to her or be with her. Why? This seems very ridiculous to me."
I looked up to him. Even though I was considered tall, he was still one head taller than me. I liked that. A lot. Probably too much. It was intimidating and somehow sexy.
