I built a wall around my heart,
I have left the smiles in the dark,
My eyes have lost their lively spark.
I left behind all worries and doubts,
No one can hear my shouts.
I'm shutting myself in,
I know a loser can never win.
I've lost all hope to live,
I have no love to give.
Smiles, a forgotten fragment of my past,
Happiness can never last.
Hopes meant to soar come crashing down,
Darkness, guilt, and anger invade my town.
I don't know if I can cope,
There is not enough of the rope.
Don't try pulling me up,
I'm lost, I'm falling now.
I can't cleanse my soul,
I play no part, I have no role.
Will I make it through or will I drown?
Will I be met with a smile or a frown?

When things seem dark, we are forced to decide if we want to face it head-on or if we want to let go. There are times when we feel lost and uncared for but remember there is always someone who loves you. Look within when you can't look outside. That smile will come. Don't let the frowns get to you. You are amazing. Never question that.
