Harry's pov:

Great. We have Defence Against the Dark Arts with Slytherin, which means that first day back will be ruined. I just hope our new professor is all right. As we walked, Hermione and Ron were arguing over pros and cons of Quidditch. I just listened as they bickered, deep in thought.

As we walked in, all of Slytherin and Gryffindor were already there, with our new professor, Professor Lupin, standing at the front of the class.

"Good morning, I'm Professor Lupin, your new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Now most of you must be wondering why there's a wardrobe-looking thing in the middle of the classroom. Today we are looking at boggarts. Can anybody tell me about a boggart?" He explained to us. At the question Hermione's hand shot up.

"Yes, miss..." He said.

"Granger, sir. Hermione Granger. We do not know what it truly looks like as a biggest takes the form of what a person tears the most. That is what makes them so terrifying. To defeat a boggart you must use the spell 'ridikulous' and laugh. Laughter is what defeats the boggart." Hermione explained and many people instantly looked worried.

"That is correct. Thank you, Miss Granger. Now, any volunteers to go first?" He asked, and, of course, no one stepped forward.

"Okay, Mr. Potter, please step forward." He said and I gulped, knowing my darkest secret was about to be revealed.

I stepped forward and waited, as the biggest took shape I felt my breathing speed up slightly. My biggest fear was Uncle Vernon and what he did to me.

"You freak. You're just a waste of space laid on us when your stupid mother got herself killed." The biggest of Uncle Vernon yelled. I sunk to the floor and curled up into a ball.

"Freak, what are you doing? Are you hurt? Good because freaks like you deserve it. How about we give you more of what you deserve!" He shouted and by now I had forgotten that it wasn't real. I tensed and protected myself as I got ready to be kicked, but nothing happened and everything was silent. I waited for a second before opening my eyes, expecting too see Uncle Vernon's fat, red face, but instead I saw the golden eyes of the professor. I looked around and saw the whole class staring in shock. I shuffled myself into a corner and his my face in my knees, not wanting to see everyone staring at me.

Draco's pov:

Potter was abused!? I watched as he shuffled into a corner, away from everyone, and hid his face in his knees. No one moved, everyone still in shock. I felt so bad for ever bullying Potter. I wanted to fix everything, so I slowly walked over and crouched down, making sure I wasn't too close so he wouldn't freak out.

"Po - Harry. Can you look at me? Please?" I asked gently. I waited a second and he lifted his head, his emerald eyes piercing my silver ones.

"Can I come closer? I won't hurt you, I promise. Look, wand. Gone." I said as I got my wand out and chucked it to the other side of the room. He gave and almost imperceptible nod and I slowly moved closer, and say down in front of him. I still saw the fear in his eyes as he looked behind me, at the rest of the class.

I looked to my right, at Professor Lupin and gave him a look that begged him to dismiss the class. He got the idea.

"Class dismissed." He said, barely loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone slowly left the classroom. I shot a thankful look at the professor before turning my attention back to Harry.

"You're safe now, they're gone. It's just you, me and Professor Lupin." I told him. He then had a confused look on his face for a second before muttering 'Lupin' several times, like he was trying to remember something.
