Chapter 5

The Plan

Pagkabalik ni Aries galing banyo ay umingay na naman sila na parang mga bata. Wala akong matatapos na trabaho ngayong araw dahil sa kanila. Sinabi na rin ni Nickel sa akin ang totoong dahilan kung bakit sila pumunta rito, he just reminded me about his birthday celebration two days from now. He gave me the invitation a while back and based from it, I could tell that it will be a formal party. I told him that he could have just told me about it through phone and no need to come here.

"Do you think we'll come here if you bothered picking up one of our calls?" he spat.

I scowled at him. "What are you, a kid? You can still celebrate your birthday without me." I fired back.

Aries and Lead were just looking at us like they were watching a good show.

"Of course, I can!" 'di pagpapatalo ng ungas.

"I'm too busy, I'll try if I could come." sabi ko na lang para matapos na ang usapan.

"You can come dude, there will be a lot of girls willing to make you come." double-meaning niya sabi sa akin.

"Gago!" mura ko sa kanya.

Napasandal ako sa swivel chair na kinauupuan ko dahil sa pagod. Malakas akong napabuntong-hininga na naging dahilan upang mapalingon ang tatlo sa akin.

"Someone seems problematic." parinig ni Aries. "We can help, you know." dugtong niya.

Hindi ko alam kung paano ko masisimulan ang plano. For the past weeks, bilang na bilang lang ang interaksyon namin ni Luzzi. Lahat pa ay tungkol sa trabaho. Paano ko mapapatunayan na kabit nga siya ng ama ko kung nabubulok lang ako rito sa loob ng opisina ko kasama ang mga papel na ito. Hindi sapat ang binayaran kong private investigator upang pasundan ang babae.

Laging nagrereport sa akin ang PI ko at so far, he found nothing suspicious. But that doesn't mean she's not the mistress. I need to find it out myself.

"I can do it alone." ako habang nakapikit na at minamasahe ang aking sentido.

Kahit gusto ko ang ideyang tutulong sila, ayaw ko na silang madamay pa. I'm actually glad that they are willing to help me, but this is my problem and I don't want to drag them into this mess. I know that they have their own problems too.

I don't want to be a burden to them when I know I can do this on my own.

"I know what you're thinking, fucker. Let us help you. You were there for us when we were once like that." Nickel said.

Alam na alam talaga nila kung ano ang pumapasok sa isip ko. High school pa lang ay magkakaibigan na kami kaya alam na namin ang ugali at kung paano magisip ang bawat isa.

I am an only child. When I met them, I treated them like my own brothers. We grew because we have each other's back. Naalala ko noon, tuwing mapapaaway si Eros ay lagi kaming rumeresbak agad. Alam din namin ang sikreto ng isa't-isa, that is how comfortable we are with each other.

"Fine." pagpayag ko.

Lead smirked and Aries chuckled. They know me too well.

Sinenyasan naman ako ni Nickel na lumapit sa kanila. Sinunod ko ang gusto niyang mangyari at naupo sa pang-isahang sofa katabi niya. Katapat ko si Lead at katapat naman niya si Aries na kanina ay nakapwesto rito sa kinauupuan ko, lumipat siya matapos mabugahan ng juice ni Nickel kanina.

With our arrangement, we look like we are planning to kill someone. Kulang na lang ay umupo si Eros sa kabiserang sofa at magmumukhang siya ang leader namin. Sa gitna namin ay ang pahabang center table kung saan nakalagay ang mga hinandang meryenda para sa kanila.

"What now?" bored kong sabi. Kapag ito lang talaga walang kwenta baka ipakaladkad ko sila palabas sa guard.

"Since hindi mo pa naman talaga sigurado kung siya nga talaga ang sinasabi mong kabit ng dad mo, try to observe her first." si Nickel.

My brows furrowed. How can I do that? Sunod-sunod ang trabahong binibigay sakin, may oras pa ba akong obserbahan siya?

"Paano ko siya oobserbahan?"

"Pre, mabilis mo lang namang malalaman kung kabit talaga yang sekretarya mo eh. Just ask her." suhestyon ni Aries na agad binato ng unan ni Nickel.

"Tangina mo talaga Aries Daxon! Edi sana hindi na nagpakahirap 'tong si Kayden na i-takeover ang kompanya ng ama niya. Dax pa naman iyang pangalan mo pero utak mo jutay!" pambabara pa niya.

Napailing ako sa tinuran ng dalawa. This is not a good idea. Ba't ba ako naniwala na may magandang maitutulong ang elementong 'to? Maybe I'm just too desperate to the point that I believed my stupid friend.

"Try to be close with her."

Natigil sina Aries at Nickel dahil sa pagsasalita ni Lead. I also didn't expect him to think of a plan because he was quite the whole time.

"You wouldn't know anything if you're not going to establish a good relationship with her." pagpapatuloy niya.

Good relationship? He must be kidding me!

"Getting close with his father's mistress? Are you in your right mind dude? Hindi ba dapat ay magalit pa nga siya? Pahirapan niya sa trabaho, gano'n." pagsingit ni Aries. Mukhang pareho kami ng naiisip.

Mas nalilito ako sa dapat kong gawin. Nickel said observe her first. Aries suggested to take my revenge through work. Then, Lead wants me to be close with her. Kanino ako mas maniniwala? This is really not a good idea.

"Continue, Lead." In the end, doon ako sa mukhang seryoso at may patutunguhan ang sasabihin.

Hindi naman makapaniwala ang mukha ng dalawang binalewala ko.

"Kapag nakuha mo na ang loob niya, maaaring maging komportable na siya sayo. May bagay na pwede siya masabi na makakatulong sa pagpapatunay mo na siya nga ang kabit." seryoso na sabi pa rin ni Lead.

I get his point. But what if she still won't open up to me? Everything will be put into waste.

"Paano nga niya magagawa 'yon eh ang dami niyang trabaho rito sa opisina niya." Nickel said still doubtful of Lead's plan.

"Business trips." simpleng sagot niya. Napakunot-noo muli ako. Mas magiging busy ako sa mga business trips kaya mas mawawalan ako ng oras sa plano ko. What does he mean?

Magtatanong na sana ako ng biglang magsalita si Aries na parang naeexcite.

"Ah! Why not bring her to your private island! Tell her that you're both going to a business trip but truth is, you're just going to spend time with her there. In that way, mas magiging mas malapit ka sa kanya."

Napangisi naman si Lead dahil sa pagkakagets ni Aries sa plano niya. Will I really go that far for this plan? The image of my mom crying played in my mind. Why would I even hesitate? I'll do everything to take my revenge on her.

"And then? Where's the revenge part on that?" I asked. So what if she get close to me? What will happen next?

"I'll tell you later on. Just do what Aries said first. Call me when you successfully did it."

Based on the smirk plastered on Lead's face, I can sense that he's up to something bad. Whatever it is, I don't care. I just want to get back on her for hurting my mom.
