Luxerion
Noel Kreiss breathed in a cool breath of air. The streets of Luxerion always had the lingering scent of dampness and dew.
He leaned against the balcony, looking over the view of the city. He was due to head to Yusnaan soon. If anything it was chance to see the last piece of sanity in this corrupted world.
Serah Farron. The girl he'd travelled through time with, and the girl who kept him somewhat sane.
His thoughts went to her. Was she happy? Was she healthy? He didn't know, but he somewhat knew she was okay.
His thoughts were broken by footsteps. He glances back and sees a familiar face.
"There you are! I was told I'd find you here." He perks up after she speaks. "Serah. What brings you to Luxerion?"
The pinkette walks over to the railings, a slight skip in her step. "Well. Snow's always busy nowadays...and to be honest...I missed you a bit." She looks over to her left, up at the male brunette.
"I'm sure you get lonely here." Noel shakes his head. "If anything, it's more peaceful."
The two sit in silence, staring at the streets of Luxerion, the light of the Cathedral gleaming ever so brightly.
"The chaos has begun to get worse...though how is that any difference than the last five hundred years..." The word chaos leaves his mouth like venom.
"We'll find a way to stop it...one day hopefully..." Serah says in a positive way. She always knew how to lighten up conversation.
After a few seconds of silence, she speaks again. "I know you blame yourself for the chaos spreading...and for Pulse and Valhalla combining...but I don't believe that...." She puts a hand on his right shoulder, trying to comfort him. "Everyone had a part to play in this...don't blame yourself...okay?"
She tilts her head, her hair tie jingling, as though she was expecting an answer from the hunter. Noel takes in a breath, before giving her a smile. "Okay..."
Serah sighs aloud. "Well, aren't you going to show me around? I haven't been to Luxerion in awhile." She looks up at him, a playful smile gracing her lips.
"Oh alright. Come on. I'll show you some of the city highlights." He chuckles, before guiding her from the balcony, down some stairs, and into the late night streets of Luxerion.
The two peacefully walk in silence, simply enjoying each other's company while taking in the sights.
"Did you hear about the savior? Some pink haired chick going around and saving peoples souls for some new world."
Serah and Noel took in the quiet conversations between the random strangers that lingered in the streets.
"Savior?" Serah questions aloud. "Hey Noel, do you think it might be..." She looks over at Noel, before he gives her a nod.
"I don't know anyone else who has pink hair like yours." He smirks, teasing the girl as he pats her head. Serah pouts, before giggling. "I can't wait to see her honestly...five hundred years is a long time." Serah presses her fingers together. "I wonder where she was for all this time."
Noel couldn't help but wonder the same. The two continue walking, passing the entrance to the Cathedral. Serah glances at the Cathedral.
"It's incredible. Just so pretty." Noel looks down at her, a smile gracing his lips as her eyes light up. She really never changes.
"Yeah it is pretty fancy." He turns his head up, hoping she couldn't see his light pink cheeks.
"I hear Vanille stays there...makes me wonder how everyone is doing." She says, her gaze lingering on the bright building. She and Noel continue walking, before she stops.
"Well, I suppose we all have our own things to do. Except me..." She sighs. "I haven't had much to do. At times I fight monsters...but I've lost interest in that too..." Noel looks down at her.
"You could hang around here." "Huh?" She looks up, not realizing how close she and the hunter were. "It gets boring here too. You could help out some with helping the people of Luxerion."
Her eyes light up. "Really? I'd love to! Maybe I can help teach some kids..." She wonders aloud. He chuckles and pats her head, before moving ahead.
Serah couldn't tell why, but she felt her face warm up, a light pink glazing her cheeks.
Perhaps it was the late night bustle, or the playful teasing that happened, but Serah felt as though she had gotten closer to Noel.
Grabbing her bearings, she rushes to catch up to the last hunter.

Short first chapter. I know. But this is a beginning chapter. Who knows where the story will go, though I plan on making sure that it follows Lightning Returns.
