(Two days before Morgan's noticed missing)Officer Daniel Ramirez:

I groan, rolling off my mattress and onto the hardwood floor. My face is instantly greeted with a small slimy tongue. I smile, lovingly petting Babe on her tiny head. Remembering what woke me up I look for my phone. It laid slightly under my pillow, my screen flashing with a familiar name. Grabbing it, I unlock my home screen noticing all the missed calls.
' Morgan Missed Call (3)'
'I wonder what she wants' I sigh, clicking on her contact and hitting 'facetime'. I lay back down, petting Babe as I wait for her to answer. Which she probably wouldn't considering I missed three of her calls already. I shake my head, she would most likely make me call her three more times before answering. 'She's something else' I laugh, making a kissy face towards Babe.
"Yo! Danny!" Morgan's loud voice surprised me.
"Morgan!" I shouted back, putting my phone in my lap so I could pick up Babe.
"Whatcha ya doing today?!" She says, enthusiastic as ever.
"I just woke up Mo, I'm not sure yet" I laugh, looking down at the phone. The lighting was off so it made my already white skin look whiter.
"Haha, you look like a white highlighter right now! If that's a thing? Or! or you look like a white spot light! Baha haha! Anyways, do you work today?" She breaks into a fit of laughter, my whiteness being the core of her jokes. I roll my eyes, taking in her tan skin and lively green eyes.
"Ok ok I get it Mo, I'm white. We've been over this." I shake my head at her, though smiling.
"And no, I don't work, I was prolly just gonna stay home and relax with Babe" I yawn, showing the little brown dog to Morgan.
"Ok set! I'm going to come over!" She smiled widely, hanging up right after.
"Oooookay, I guess" I say to no one in particular. Letting Babe go I get up, stretching my long limbs. 'Oh shit. Morgan's coming over. I have to clean!' I groan, rushing into the living room. I quickly picked up the few beer bottles from the night before. Tossing them in my trash can. Scrambling, I grab all the trash and shove it in as well.
*RING*
*RING*
*RING*
*RING*"Damn Mo! I'm coming!" I yell over the consistent doorbell and Babe's high pitch barking.
"Babe! Shush!" I yell, opening the door. I'm then pushed aside as a mop of black hair rushes in, picking up my now quiet dog. I smile, shutting and locking the door.
"Who's a pretty girl! You are! Such a good girl!" Morgan coddles the small dog, rocking her in her arms.
"You're the reason she's so needy! Stop spoiling her" I nudge Morgan's shoulder with mine. For being sixteen, she sure was tall. Reaching 5'9 in flat shoes. Finally someone I didn't have to hunch over for.
"Oh shush you giant. She deserves to be spoiled." Mo gives me an incredulous look, walking to sit on the black leather couch.
"So my dearest lil Mo, what brings you to my layer?" I laugh, sitting in the black recliner across from her. I notice her shoulders tense and her hand stops petting Babe. Who then jumps out of her lap to go god knows where in the small house.
