When He Saw Her

Chapter 5

Amelia-

I sat next to my siblings in the back of Andrew's car, all of us pressed together. I looked to see who was sitting in the front seat- it was dad. 'Hey dad' I smiled.

'Hey! Did you have a good day at school today kiddo?' He asked.

I nodded and told the others about the Christmas play happening soon, I think we should all go to it together. 'That sounds fun. We should definitely go,' insisted Andrew.

'That's a great idea' Lise agreed too. 'What's that hoodie you're wearing though, I don't think we own clothes that expensive.' She added.

I looked down at the hoodie Peter gave me when it was raining. I bit my lips awkwardly and said 'It was raining heavily and my shirt was wet. So my friend gave me a hoodie.' I didn't know that this was that expensive. I stared at the hoodie I was wearing, why did he give me this?

'You made friends today? That's great' replied Tom. I glanced at him amused, I held tight to the hoodie I was wearing. I'm glad I made friends today.

Carter-

When did Royce even talk to her? Are they friends? Why am I even thinking about this, I paced around my room in circles, my hands clenched, looking at the clouds outside through the window.

I was soaking wet, the rain has started to calm down now. I could see a car pulling up to the drive way on Eleanor's house.

I watched as the crowd of people left the car, my eyes scanning their steps carefully. I saw a girl with white, pearl, barrettes on each side of her head, over her ears. That was definitely Amelia I smirked.

She was still wearing that assholes stupid Balman hoodie. I frowned so hard my face was turning red. What the hell.

I scoffed and turned around, I better get changed already.

I walked outside the bathroom with a towel around my waist. I yanked my phone off the charger and looked at the text messages.

It was all texts from Madison, she was spamming my phone. I think she heard about the cheating rumors Aurora made up. That's bullshit, I never did anything serious with her anyway; I threw my phone on my bed.

I sighed and glanced at my window again, this time I could see someone looking. I squinted my eyes to see the person better. It was Amelia, what a coincidence I thought. She just appears whenever I think about her.

I looked at her face, it looked like something was wrong with her, why was she looking at me like that? She looked surprised, I looked around trying to see what bothered her- that was when I realized.

Fuck! I quickly ducked so that she couldn't see me, I wasn't wearing anything at all.

I glanced back at her, she closed her curtains. I didn't know her room was there. My heart started beating really quickly- my face and ears turned flaming red. I laid down on my bed trying to process what just happened.

Amelia-

After lunch I went to my room and started to take out my stuff from my luggage. I noticed a figure moving around in the room next door- the one on the same floor as mine.

I walked towards the window and looked at the room, I couldn't see who it was clearly. Holy fuck. Whoever it was has the most picture perfect abs, I couldn't take my eyes off of the guy.

I couldn't stop starring, my mouth started drooling. He walked closer to the window and he was looking at me. My face was glowing scarlet, it was Carter and he saw me.

I quickly closed the curtains and looked away, why am I so stupid. I covered my face with both hands- trying to forget the uncomfortable situation that just happened.

The next day I woke up to a message from Tori. I gave her my number while we're were working on the poster because we still didn't finish it. I sat up in bed and looked at my phone.

T: hey, this is Tori
A: hi
T: do you have time to finish the sign today? I can come over to your house
A: I'll ask for permission one sec

I stood up and ran to the stairs, 'Auntieee! Mom! My friend wants to come over so that we could work on a project together. Can I invite her over?' I exclaimed.

'Of course, call her over, honey!' They both replied in unison.

A: it's all good, what time can you come at?
T: right now- can you send the location pls

I ran back to my room and then sent her the location and waited. She had the poster with her, so we couldn't work on the sign until she got here.

I sighed. I better clean this place up and get changed; I rubbed my eyes and yawned, I haven't even had breakfast yet.

I wore a simple comfy outfit, then headed downstairs to have a light breakfast before Tori gets here. Lise and Tom offered to help on the sign too, I think we might get it done today.

Amelia's outfit *

I was eating my oats, when I heard the door bell ring. I ran and opened the door quickly; the yarn coat I was wearing fell off one of my shoulders.

I was holding the bowl in my hands, still eating, as I stared outside the house. It was Tori, but she came with Carter??

My face flushed instantly as I remembered what had happened yesterday. He seemed to recognize why I looked uncomfortable too. He stopped looking at me and glanced to the side. What was he doing here? I opened my mouth to say something- when Tori cut me off.

'He saw me coming here and asked if I needed help and I agreed. He wants to help us finish the sign.' She blurted out quickly, she looked as confused as me as to why he did that.

I lifted one brow processing the situation quickly and then I let them in. Apparently, both of them haven't had breakfast yet as well. It was still early, so I wasn't that surprised.

We all went to the kitchen, where I was eating before they came. Then, we had breakfast together. Soon after that, Lise and Tom joined us.

We had an amazing time all of us, it was hilarious. Maybe Carter isn't a bad person at heart.

Carter-

I intentionally came here because I wanted to see Amelia. I couldn't help myself. Ever since me and Victoria came to this house; I couldn't keep my eyes off of her no matter how I tried.

I'm just holding myself back from doing something I'd regret, I think I'm obsessed with this girl at this point.
