I never understood why men were so sick, treating women like puppets and feeling entitled to do as they please with us. It's gross, it's like a game to them, watching women give themselves up to them, then throwing them away to go find another toy for their perverted pleasure, their un compassionate game. Women are no saints either but Men seem absolutely insane to me, not all men obviously... there are as much good ones as there are bad ones, but they seem harder to find, as if they all live far from cities and even farther from colleges, not daring to come near it. It's not that I hate men, it may sound like I do, but no. I get along with all genders, it just pains me, absolutely pains me to see girls fall for these narcissistic guys who clearly just have one thing on their mind: sex.

It's true... you may think it's love, you may be feeling so in tune and completely head over heels for this guy, but frankly, they don't give a fuck about you.

"God Sam! Do I have to ask you again! Pay attention to me" big green eyes stared at me with frustration. A sigh coming out of her red stained lips."Sorry, I dosed off... the red shirt" I pointed to the red fabric on her left hand and she smiled and nodded as if to reassure herself it was the right choice all along. She threw the peach colored shirt she had as the other options on the carpet.

"You're seriously making me do this?" I asked her and she ignored me as she put on her clothes right in front of me. She had the body of a model, a stick with no curves."Sam, can you please for once have fun. It's a date, god! we've been in college two years already and you haven't even so much as looked at a guy" she said and I raised my eyebrows."So what? I don't want anything to do with a guy right now, Gaby I came to college to earn my degree and I don't need distractions and stupid uncomfortable hookups" I said and she glared at me."Please just be nice to him, he's Cole's best friend. You are my best friend, it would be nice if we all got to hang out with each other." She said and I groaned.

Gaby seemed to have assumed the role of finding me a suitor despite my constant objections.

"Why are you obsessed with this idea that the four of us will be eating brunch in ten years with our sons and daughters being best friends?" I laughed and she tried not to smile. Oh my god she's actually picturing it!

"I just really think you need to get some. It's probably been a dessert down there for years" she said referring to my vagina."Hey! I masturbate at least twice a week!" I said defensively.

"I fuck Cole four times a week, really helps with my stress" she added as she applied mascara in the bathroom."I am not fucking that asshole!" I exclaimed in horror and she ignored me. Again."I can't believe you're still a virgin" she laughed to herself and I grunted."I think I'm the only girl in this school who is" I admitted.

"I don't know how you do it, every week a guy is trying to get in your pants" she said applying more makeup. I always thought Gaby was effortlessly beautiful.

"And every time they realize it's not going to happen, poof! They disappear into thin air. What a coincidence huh?" I said sarcastically."Yeah yeah whatever, guys suck, blah blah blah." She nodded. I'm glad she's understanding."Now you're learning" I nodded in approval.

"Done! Let's go" she said ruffling her blonde hair and turning off the bathroom light before closing the door."Sam not even some eyeliner? Nothing?" She said a little upset that I clearly didn't intend to put any effort in for this date I clearly didn't want to go to."I'm beautiful no matter what" I said with my charming sarcasm and she clicked her heels out of my room.

Winter was just around the corner, it was cold and dry outside, my face was starting to numb and my nose got red as the icy wind blew. I walked faster as I glared at Sam. My nose slightly starting to run. "Pick up the pace Gab I'm freezing my balls off" I yelled and she did. We walked about half a mile until we got to the shopping area by our school. There was Christmas decorations in every direction you turned your head, I absolutely loved it. The consumerist mindset everyone subconsciously switched on at the sight of any tacky Christmas decoration.

"There they are!" She said pointing to two guys across the street. She shouted her boyfriends name and his eyes landed on her, they waited for the cars to stop so they could cross. I stuffed my hands in my coat pockets and licked my dry lips, wanting to go inside already.

"His name is Tom, he's a cutie, he's in the same frat as Cole" she said leaning closer to my ear."Looks like a complete womanizer" I rolled my eyes and she told me to 'shhhh' and 'be nice'. He was a pretty normal looking dude, nothing special, like most of Cole's friends. Plain, boring, and predictable would be accurate words.

Cole wrapped his arms around gaby while me and this stranger were left without an introduction to fend for ourselves."Hey, I'm Tom" he said smiling a little."Sam" I replied back with the same smile."I always see you reading in that bench in front of the cafeteria" he said and I laughed a little, surprised at the strangers sweet words.

"Hey sammy" cole said giving me a nod."How did that job interview go?" I asked him and he instantly rolled his eyes."Some idiot got it, his dad was friends with the owner" he said bothered and I muttered a 'that sucks' and we all walked farther into the plaza until we reached some bar/restaurant that was tucked away behind another restaurant.

"Have you been here before?" Tom asked me and I shook my head no."It's really good" he assured me and I nodded as cole signaled four fingers to the lesbian looking waitress in all black with a tiny pierced nose. I never assumed anyones sexual preference but the way she blatantly stared at Gaby's breasts was a pretty obvious sign.

The place was small, with windows, it was covered with quotes in Spanish, colorful lights, a disco ball and random ass objects hung up on the walls, like a trendier more inclusive crackle barrel.

That was an awful comparison I thought to myself as I looked around more.We all sat down around a black metal round table. Cole and gaby on the sofa and me and Tom on rustic looking chairs. We were passed two menus forcing me to share one with Tom. What a boring name, Tom... so bland."It's Colombian, You're not vegetarian are you?" He asked."No, what's an arepa" I asked him reading the small menu with very little items."It's like a patty made with corn, I don't know you'll see, don't worry it's really good just choose one of these" he said and I looked over the section he was signaling."I'm getting the steak, cheese, and guac" he said."Okay I'll get the same" I said and he nodded putting down the menu.

We ordered and Gaby ordered four drinks without asking anyone if they wanted."What drinks did you order" I asked her."Some cocktails." she replied and I prayed they were strong, I just wanted to eat whatever the fuck an arepa was, go to my room, turn off all the lights, snuggle in my bed and watch game of thrones until two in the morning.

I sighed just thinking about what a great idea that was."Eric is having a party in his apartment, it's like two subway stations from here, he wants to know if we want to go? what do I tell him?" He said looking up from his phone to Cole. Cole ran a hand through his blond hair and looked at Gaby and me."It's up to them man, I don't care" he said."Ohh yes, I wanna go" Gaby said and I sunk down in my seat a little. Clearly irritated at the slight idea of a frat party. "I can't" I said looking at Tom. Gaby opened her mouth and laughed knowing I would go home after this and binge watch a show.

"She's lying, we're going" she said to me. "She's just going to go home and watch YouTube and study or something" she told Tom and he chuckled.

"Really I can't, I have finals in a couple of weeks, I barely studied last week" I said and Tom had a grin on his face that he was trying to hide."What! I heard it's going to be really hard?" I said and he smiled even more."I'm not going" I said to end the discussion and they all agreed to go without me and I sighed in relief.

Our food and drinks were served, the smoke still evaporating from the sandwich looking patty's. The smell of meat and spices warmed up my insides and my mouth started to water slightly. We all grabbed our white cups and I looked inside, the liquid was clear, easily mistaken for water, decorated with a lychee and an orange slice."Cheers to Sam, and hopes that she will ace her finals!" She said sarcastically still mad I wouldn't go with her to party.

I laughed at her immaturity and cheered enthusiastically with everyone and raised the glass to my chapped lips. The iced drink ironically burned my throat slightly but the tanginess of the fruit complemented the slight taste of licorice and I swallowed and licked my lips."Ew" said Cole and I smiled to myself."I like it, taste weird" Tom raised an eyebrow."It's good, let's eat"
