katie was working in the shelter when a family came in "hello?" the man asked rude she looked "hello how can i help you?" she asked "i want my son to have a goldfish but my wife wants him to have an animal he should be responsible with like walking feeding letting it out" the man said katie smiled the boy seen katie smiling "we'll be happy with whatever you give him" Katie heard that "well its more of he and the animal have to have a certain bond" she said she smiled "well does that mean you wont help us?" the man asked katie smiled "i want all these animals to go to the person who suits them" she said james heard that "as i can tell he might find a very lucky animal" she allowed him back with her as he walked over looking at the animals when a certain animal cage came up he seen the puppy eyes katie seen it "i think your right dear i think found the animal" he said she smiled she unlocked the cage picking up the puppy "she got here right after she was born" she said he held the puppy carefully "whats her name?" he asked "james she don't have one" katie said james smiled "how much?" he asked she smiled "since your a 'close friend' she is free" he smiled and kissed katie who kissed back "my parents already know we are dating" she said as he broke the kiss he smiled "they arent mad?" he asked she shook her head they walked back the man seen james holding a puppy katie got a leash and collar "so how long has this been running for?" kelly james mother asked "well im fifteen so for ten years" she said a person came in with a dog katie seen James eyes follow the man "hold on for one second" Katie took the leash from the man who was mad "i want the dog put down immediately the thing cant even fight i want a refund" katie heard that and glared at the person "no refunds you made a promise to take care of the dog i should call the police for animal abuse but your lucky im nice now get them hell of my animal shelter" she said he backhanded her in the face and keept kicking her she coughed up blood the man left Katie's phone rang it was her brother she declined it she walked to the back and washed the blood of her face and arms walked back and gave James and his family everything they needed for the dog Lucas grabbed an ace wrap "ms can i see your arm its broken" he said she did he had a sling for her she frowned "just my luck" she mubled james smiled "can i name the puppy after you?" he asked katie looked "yeah go ahead" she said smiling he spent more time with his dog than with his friends soon the whole school pretty much talked about how he was with the dog he talked to katie about it she smiled "dont let it bother you cause if you show people its get you mad they will only keep it up" she said james smiled and they kissed it was lunch time they had already ate james showed her the photo's of kat he named her after Katie she smiled
