"Wait!"
What now. What could possibly be going on that I needed to stop. They don't want me why should I stop, I need to keep going and find my own group. But since I have no one else I guess I should.
I turn around and I can see the boy speaking with his father. It was mostly muffled voices but what I could make out I heard him saying that I should just come with them since I'm just a kid. I have to admit he was pretty convincing for a kid my age, we could probably get along.
"Fine." Rick finally said after moments.
I knew what he was talking about but I didn't want to seem like I was eavesdropping. So I pretended to be a little confused.
"What?" I asked as if I didn't know.
"You can join. But the moment you do wrong, you're out." Spoken sternly by Rick.
"Oh sir don't worry 'bout that, worry 'bout my skills." I said smiling and soon realizing that it sounded more of a threat than a joke.
"I'm..just kidding." I quickly added.
