Maddy: Hey girl!
Emily: what's up Maddy! :)
Maddy: nothing really. Just excited for summer break!
Emily: OMG ME TOOOO!
Maddy: so what's your plans for the summer?
Emily: me and my family are going to the beach in July as far as I know.
Maddy: lucky! I want to go with you!
Emily: perhaps I can persuade my mom to let you come?
Maddy: gosh, I hope you're right.
Emily: if not then I'll make it up to you.
Maddy: how?
Emily: Sleepover?
Maddy: I don't know. One night is not enough. As long as it's for more than one night.
Emily: deal! :D
Maddy: so, juniors next year.. how do you feel about that?
Emily: honestly, I don't want to even think about school right now. Summer has just begun not school.
Maddy: speaking of summer.... get ready for the unbearable heat!🔥🔥
Emily: UGH, TELL ME ABOUT IT!
Maddy: we could go to the local pool to cool off. It's only five minutes from my house. Perhaps we can go next week. Want me to pick you up?
Emily: I'll have to ask my mom
Maddy: alrighty
Emily: so I'm scrolling through the tv channels right now and the news caught my attention.
Maddy: news? You don't even like the news. 🤔🤔
Emily: true... but this is the local news. Something is going on in our town.
Maddy: something like what?
Emily: something strange.
Maddy: describe strange.
Emily: okay, so right now the reporters are doing an interview on this older woman. She claims to have been robbed two nights ago. She says she heard glass breaking in the middle of the night and she got up with a baseball bat and walked into the living room to see everything scattered and a strange looking person killing her dog.
Maddy: don't believe that nonsense. It's probably another hoax. I bet the old lady just has schizophrenia.
Emily: well they are showing the damage in her house. Everything is scattered and I see faint blood stained on the floor.
Maddy: you said the dog got killed right?
Emily: yeah...
Maddy: how did the man kill it?
Emily: well it was a little dog, a yorkie. It's said that the man kicked it and stabbed it then as it lay dying from the stab wounds, he broke its neck...
Maddy: WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT?!😡😡😡
Emily: I don't know. Some psycho.
Maddy: when it comes to animals, I'm concerned. Why the hell would someone kill an innocent dog?!!?!?
Emily: someone messed up.
Maddy: what else is it saying?
Emily: turn on the tv and find out.
Maddy: okay...

*maddy turns on the tv in her bedroom*

"She also claims the person was wearing a black hood but she could not identify their face. The person escaped right when the woman saw them. Detectives are searching for the robber right now. We'll update you when the detectives find out more information. We advise you to be cautious and lock your doors".
Old woman: "I tell you, that man is a sick bastard! He killed my dog! My poor little baby! *sobs* "so much was destroyed. So many memories and items that cannot be replaced. I can't do this no more. This world too cruel for me. I'm scared. I don't wanna go home now. Whoever this person is, lock him up please! I want to avenge my little baby yorkie. He was the sweetest little thing. *sobs* "I wish this man eternity of misery. I advise you all be cautious. No more animals need be slained. Y'all need to keep your youngsters inside to or they may be next."

*maddy turns off tv*

Maddy: I just watched some of it. I had to turn it off. It's just heartbreaking.
Emily: I know... maddy?
Maddy: yes?
Emily: I'm kinda worried now. I don't want you to be alone. Your parents said they wouldn't be back for another week. Perhaps I should send someone over there to watch you, my dad perhaps?
Maddy: do i look like i need a babysitter?! I'm 16, almost 17 years old and so are you! I'm not a 5 year old who needs a babysitter!
Emily: I'm just worried.. you're at the house alone.
Maddy: trust me, it was just a robbery, one robbery. It happens. Just because someone else got robbed doesn't mean I will. One robbery doesn't mean dozens. Besides, they probably already caught the guy by now.
Emily: maddy..
Maddy: just listen to me, there is nothing to worry about. Quit overreacting.
Emily: okay, I'm sorry.
Maddy: it's ok.
Emily: just keep texting me and calling me so I know you're okay. I don't like it when my friends are alone especially now.
Maddy: trust me emily, with you in my presence, I'm never alone...❤❤❤
