this is my first werewolf book- pls be nice

Rose

I hummed as I brushed through my hair, smiling as my sister rambled on about tonight. I didn't understand her excitement.

Every year, when a werewolf turns 18, they must attend a banquet, where they mingle, and hopefully meet their mates. They go every year until they find their mates, and if they have kids, they must accompany them to their first banquet.

This was my first banquet, and I honestly still didn't understand the hype.

On the other hand, this was my sisters third, and she was still as excited as she was for her first.

"Rose, do I look okay?" My sister, Georgia, asked, doing a spin in her tight blue cocktail dress. I nodded, smiling happily at her. "You look gorgeous," I said as I stood, "now I'm gonna go get dressed. Please don't break anything."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She said, rolling her eyes playfully and giggling as she shoved me into the bathroom. "Aren't you excited?" She said through the door. "I mean, I guess. I just don't get it. What if I don't find him tonight? Or ever?" I said, pulling on the satin green dress. It was a v-neck, that showed off more then I liked. It had spaghetti straps and reached the floor. It hugged my curves in all the right places. I felt grown.

Georgia was rambling on about how important this was and how I should be more excited about this. "And you'll live happily ever af- wow." She stopped mid-sentence as I stepped out of the bathroom. "What?" I asked sheepishly, suddenly feeling insecure. She walked over to me and smiled. "You look absolutely magnificent, little sister." She said, hugging me tightly. "You're so grown up!" Georgia exclaimed.

I giggled and pulled away. "Oh, please. I'm still your short, innocent, baby sister." I said, which was true. I only stood at 4'11- 5'2 with my heels on- and I haven't had my first boyfriend. I haven't even had my first kiss.

My sister, on the other hand, was around 5'4. With her heels she stood at a whopping 5'8. And she's had plenty of boyfriends, and has done much more then just kissing.

The only thing me and my sister had in common was our looks. We were both mixed with African and Italian. Our skin was always a light tan, which got darker over the summer. Our hair was both extremely curly, but we had straightened it for tonight. She had dark brown eyes, whereas mine were a dark green. I had freckles that lined my cheeks and nose, which I got from my mothers Italian side of the family. My sister, on the other hand had our dads perfect, smooth skin.

I led my sister over to the mirror and smiled. "Wanna take some pictures?" I asked, grabbing my phone off of the vanity. "Ooo yes!" She said. I chuckled and opened up Snapchat, turning my flash on and started posing with her. We took some goofy ones, some 'sexy' ones (her words, not mine), and some sophisticated ones.

"Send those to me." She said as she grabbed her blue shawl and purse. I grabbed my green shawl and purse, before linking arms with my sister. My dad called us downstairs. We giggled as we stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for the OK to come down. "We're ready!" Our mom called. We took a deep breathe in before ascending down the stairs, our arms linked. My mother was recording and my dad was wiping his tears. My little brother, Jayden, stared at us in awe. I smiled knowing my family loved me and my sister.

"Wow, girls, you look.. Gorgeous." My dad said, sniffling. I wasn't used to this side of him. He was never the affectionate type, much less the type to cry. But I mean, tonight he might loose his two daughters. So I understand that.

My mother, however, was very emotional, so when she raced over and embraced us, sobbing, I was prepared for it. I smiled, rubbing her back. "Shh, Mamma, you don't want to ruin your makeup, right?" I said. She sniffled and pulled away, nodding. I admired her gorgeous, long brown hair, which my brother had inherited. "You look gorgeous Mamma." Georgia said, smiling. She smiled and backed away. "Not as gorgeous as you too. Isn't that right, sweetie?" She asked, leaning her head against my father.
