"Your power is raw and full of passion, much like mine. Master Luke can only show you so much but I can show you everything." An outstretched hand comes with the raspy voice. "Join me and I can show you the wonders of the dark side."

Jerking upright in bed trying to catch my breath, I sigh in relief of it only being a dream. The recurring nightmare was the same each time: a voice calling out to me, asking for me to pledge my allegiance to the dark side. I shook the burning image out of my mind, as I exited my makeshift room and ventured outside. Master Luke and the other Padawans had already begun their day, eating a small meal before we began training. Scanning the dozens of young ones before me, my eyes set on my other half.

"Ben!" My inner thoughts poured out to him. His mop of hair whipped around to see me walking towards him. The dark bags under his eye lead me to believe he didn't get much sleep, either. "Em." My nickname rolled off his tongue with ease. "Did you sleep well?" His eyes bounced back and forth between my own. I debated on whether or not to tell him of my dreams, but when I met his eyes again I already knew he had read my thoughts and knew about them.

"Are you having dreams too? I feel a pull towards it too. The voice. I hear it in my dreams; it tells me to join them." He watches as my head drops and my eyes blur. "This is the third time it's happened. I must tell Master Luke, he'll know what to make of it." I look over to see my teacher, only to find him demonstrating a lightsaber combat course to the younger children. "He's busy, we can talk to him later. Let's go out to the meadow and start our day." His hand outstretched, waiting for me to grasp it. Together, we interlace our fingers as we take off.

"Do you remember much before we found you on Cordellia?" Ben always asked about my life before him. "I don't remember much about living on Jakku with my parents or my sister Rey. I was only two when my parents left Rey on Jakku, then left me on Cordellia. I can still hear Rey screaming after the ship. My mother didn't answer me when I asked why we left without her. I do remember my mom braiding my hair back before we disembarked the ship, her fingers wrapping me in a warm embrace. I stupidly ran off the ship ahead of my parents to look around but when I turned back, their ship was gone. I have so many questions I want answers for. I just want to know if Rey is alive, or if she's realized she's force sensitive like me. Or if she even remembers what our parents were like."

I looked out onto the river, reminiscing on the thought of my sister, still trying to wonder why my parents separated us and left me alone on Cordellia. Why didn't they just leave me with Rey on Jakku so she wasn't alone all these years? When I was six, a market vendor found me wandering the streets alone, and soon after, took me in. He put me to work trading droid parts to make whatever we could live off of. I didn't know what the force was, I just knew that if I waved my hand, I could move the hulls that were too heavy for me to lift on my own. I first learned of the force when I ran into a young dark haired boy and immediately felt a connection to him. He told me that his name was Ben and that he was going to be a pilot or a Jedi when he was older.

His mother felt our pull towards each other when she stared wide eyed, then turning to exchange words with her husband. "Hi there, I'm Leia. Where are your parents?" Her soft eyes sent a warm sensation through me. "My mom and dad left me here four years ago. They haven't been back yet." Her expression falls as my words leave my mouth; her realizing I was orphaned by my parents. She turned back to her husband and exchanged words while Ben and I moved a small box with the force. Ben explained to me what my power was: the force. At that moment Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Ben Solo become my family, so to speak.

They brought me back to Chandrila and made me a part of their home. "I remember when we first met, it felt like I was being dragged by my hair towards this little vendor stand. You ran out from behind the table and smacked right into me. The force was pulling us together and we didn't even know it." Ben smiled as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his chest. Although the Jedi weren't allowed to love, Ben and I had slowly become infatuated with each other.
