I walked up to my mirror to make one final check of my outfit before heading down stairs, i was halfway down the stairs when i heard a knock at the door. I suddenly got really nervous, it's been awhile since i last went out with a friend and i still had to tell him about Blake. As i opened the door a small breeze hit me, i could smell mint mixed with a tiny bit of sweat. it mad me blush, i'm not sure why but in a weird way i liked it.
"hey, umm plans have changed slightly. I can still come but well," I said looking down and then i felt a weird feeling like i do in my dreams when someone is behind me, and sure enough Blake was.
"I have to come," Blake said with a grin on his face, "Mum's orders, Sky can't go unless i do." I watched as he talked, i could hear in his voice how much he was enjoying telling Finn.
"Yeah, sorry." I looked down at my shoes not wanting to look him in the eyes.
"That's fine with me, my friend said he might join us. that's if you don't mind?" he asked looking at me.
"No, i'll just grab my bag, meet you outside." I ran into the kitchen and grabbed my bag, waved goodbye to Sue and headed out the door.
The drive to the arcade was hellish. We went in Finn's truck and before i had even stepped out the front door, Blake had insisted that he sat upfront with Finn. The whole time we were in the car no one spoke a word, i didn't because i couldn't think of anything to talk about and being in the car with these two, is like being in a room with two hungry wolves and i'm the pray.
"Well, here we are. I'll go park the car, you jump out and go get in line." Finn pulled up outside a big building with the word's "DAVE'S ARCADE" lit up in fluorescent neon writing. It was the first time i had ever been here and to be honest i had never even heard of it before.
"Sure." Me and Blake jumped out and headed over to where the line ended, there was only about five people in front of us which mean't we wouldn't be waiting long and two minutes later Finn showed up, looking like he just ran from the car.
"You OK?" Finn's face was a little red and he seemed a little out of breath.
"Had to park the car up the road, ran back over here." He stood up straight and brushed himself off, Blake gave him a funny look but didn't say anything. "So, you've really never been here before?"
"Nope. I've never even heard of it, i'm going to take a wild guess and say you come here often?" i said looking up at him, he wasn't much taller than me but i still had to look up to see his face.
"Yeah, me and my mates hang out in the pool hall often. There's a bar and poker tables down there to."
"Sounds fun," we moved forwards and finally got to the ticket booth, where a huge guy was standing. He was wearing a Dave's Arcade T-shirt and army pants, my guess was he was also the bouncer as well as the ticket guy. "How much is it?"
"Nothing. My friend works here so they just let me in but Blake, you'll have to pay. I only get one plus one, sorry." I could see how annoyed Blake was by how he slammed the money down on the counter, it made me laugh how much Finn irritated him.
"We'll meet you down stairs." Finn said as he put his arm around my shoulders and guided me through the arcade and down to the pool hall. The minute i got to the bottom of the stairs, the smell of cigarettes and alcohol rushed up my nose and to the back of my throat, making me cough. "You OK?"
I waved my hand in the air, trying to thin out the smoke around my face, "Yeah i'm fine. So where do you want to sit?"
"Over by the bar OK with you? We can use that pool table." He pointed to a green pool table that sat in the far back corner, away from all the rest.
