Ian's POV
knock knock
Sinilip ko kung sino ang kumakatok sa bintana ng kotse ko and it’s Vince. My manager. I opened the window of my car and gave him a what-look.
“You ready?” he said.
“Yeah”
“Good. 50 thousand lang ang bet but still, you need to win the race. Remember, we are trying to keep your title. You are the undefeated dude.”
“I know it. Uhm, did you meet him, my challenger?” I asked.
Ang tinutukoy ko ay yung makakalaban ko ngayon sa race. Confuse pa rin ba kayo? Well guys, I’m a racer. My name is Ian Gabriel Monte Verde. I’m already 20 years old and I study mechanical engineering. The race that I’m involved is, well, illegal.
“Nope. All I know is that he’s from Australia. Ang nakausap ko lang kanina ay yung manager nya, and guess what!”
“What?”
“His manager is a chick! Grabe kung alam mo lang how hot and pretty she is, dude she’s amazing! And don’t forget the “hot” word man” he said excitedly.
“Perv” and I chuckled.
Suddenly dumating na yung opponent ko. He parked his mustang car at my left side. Magkapantay ang kotse namin, ready for the race.
“Gotta go man, good luck”
Umalis na si Vince at pumunta sa mga kaibigan namin na palagay ko ay humhanap ng mga kapustahan para sa race. I looked at the car beside me and I can see my opponent wearing a helmet. Hindi ko gaano makita ang loob dahil tinted and car window nya.
Finally the starter girl walked in front, between our cars. Sinuot ko na ang helmet ko. She raised her hand holding a flag, that’s a signal for us to start our engines. Now she’s waving the flag. Maingay na ang engine ng kotse namin. This is it.

The starter girl hit the flag down and that’s it! The race just began.
Dikit ang laban namin pero ako pa rin ang nangunguna. This is just a 5km race at ang race destination ay medyo zigzag ang daan. Each turn nagdridrift ang kotse ko and that’s what my opponent can’t do. Huh! Ang lakas ng loob nya para ichallenge ang isang undefeated na tulad ko pero simpleng drift lang sa pagliko hindi nya magawa. I relaxed myself cause I knew I’m gonna win. The last 1km roadway is no longer zigzag. It’s a long straight highway and I am leading the race so no need to worry.
After few seconds, it’s done. I won. I am still undefeated. Grabe ang laban na to, hindi man lang ako natense.
