The surgery was over. The doctors believed it had all gone well. They kept her asleep under sedatives so that she could recover before keeping her in and beginning chemotherapy.

They drugged her with anti epileptic medicine and so far it all looked good. The surgeon had managed to move a large sum of the mass of the tumour.

Luciano had heard the news his heart beat racing as he received the call. His hand shook slightly as it settled on the phone. It's sharp ringing keeping his focus.

"Luciano Baraz speaking" He said into the phone clearing his throat as his words lodged themselves in his throat causing his voice to shake.

"The surgery was a success sir." His shoulders visibly relaxing as he let out a steady sigh of relief. "Is she awake?" He questioned, his curiosity of her well being taking over. "Well-" the doctor began only for Luciano to be interrupted by Luna pulling at his leg.

"Sweets." Luna chanted tugging on his trousers. Luciano's nostrils flared. He was stressed and he needed peace. "Hold" Luciano grunted into the phone interrupting the rambling doctor.

"GEOFFREY" Luciano shouted through the halls causing Luna to stop shouting. "sono occupato" Luciano said to a frazzled Geoffrey, who quickly nodded taking Luna away asking her what kind of sweets they would enjoy eating together earning a tut from Luciano, he was such a child.

"Continue" Luciano ground out. "She's sedated because she's quite weak to give her time to recover." Luciano hummed in understanding. "Sir how many visitors should she expect tonight I need to record it so they can let you in."

Luciano quickly moved to the window opening it and pulling and lighting up a cigarette. He took a long draw from it as he contemplated, phone still on his ear.

"Hello" the doctor asked timidly from the phone "are you-" Luciano's anger grew at the mans impatience. "let me think." He hissed into the phone in annoyance.

He didn't like this situation. The topic of Emi stressed him out. He liked her. He liked her too much and that angered him. He didn't want to get into another situation with a woman after what he had experienced.

He felt like it was deja vu as another woman he loved threatened to leave him and his babies, only this time it wasn't a bitch who left him with two newborns in his arms as he cried for her not to leave whilst on his knees of the pebbled drive way.

He didn't want to feel the vulnerability he felt that'd day ever again. He would never cry and beg like he did that day in front of any woman ever again. Yet he struggled with that idea. Emi wasn't any woman.

Luciano took one last puff of his cigarette before throwing it on the floor and diminishing it to ash underneath the heel of his foot.

"I'll be there in 20." Luciano told the doctor cutting the phone before the doctor could respond. Luciano shut the balcony doors of his study rushing for the door.

Luciano rushed towards the living room hoping to find his jacket and wallet on the sofa where he left them. His rush was halted at the sight of a sniffling Loai lying on his belly arms crossed under his head in the middle of the carpet.

Loai's head peaked up from his arms his face crumbling up to cry again at the sight of Luciano. Luciano slowed down approaching Loai slowly and taking a seat next to him.

Loai started wailing again the second Luciano sat on the ground. Luciano rushed picking up Loai and hugging him rubbing his back. Luciano was bewildering by his tears as he found no harm done to him.

"I want my Mama" Loai cried out loud and Luciano's heart dropped at the sound of it. He may be little but any little one could understand when something was going wrong.

The little boy had watched his mothers appearance deteriorate and seen her leave with packed bags he probably thought she was leaving him.

"Do you want to go see mama" Luciano questioned in a low voice earning a sad nod from Loai. Luciano nodded standing up still holding him in his arms.

Luciano walked to the nursery grabbing Loai's blanket from his crib and wrapping him up in it. It was already 8pm so would come in handy when he wanted to sleep.

Luciano buckled Loai in before taking his seat at the wheel of his Range Rover. He questioned if pursuing his feelings was the right choice for him and his children. He sighed turning the key allowing the engine to roar to life.

Luciano turned quickly to check on Loai only to be met with an already sleeping boy. Looking at the beautiful toddler in his mirror Luciano nodded making his mind up.

He began backing out of the driveway. His son needed to see his mum.
