The autumn sunrise rises, dimly lighting my room. I stumble out of my bed with my dark hair hanging down past my shoulders, instantly I stared at my reflection in a small mirror in my room. My tired dull eyes glared at my appearance.

"It's just another day," I softly whispered to myself, I grabbed my brush and neatly combed my hair. Today I didn't really feel like putting my hair into it's usual low ponytail, instead I only tied up half of my hair upward, leaving the rest to lay past my shoulders.

I quickly stripped of my pajamas and pulled on my work uniform, slipping on some shoes and checking out myself in the mirror again.

After making sure that I looked my best I walked out the door of my small yellow town house and walked towards the bus station, placing in my ear buds into my small ears. It took about ten minutes for the next bus to arrive, but today it was packed and we were all shoved in.

I place my phone in my pocket, grabbing the handle dangling above me, since there were no room on the seats. The bus jerks the people standing backwards as the bus starts to move. I stumble a little but caught my balance immediately.

The bus ride seemed like it was forever but we made it at my stop. I moved off the bus, hastily walking towards the cafe I worked at. It was called Love Cafe.

I walked inside the door, checking the time to see if I made it in time.

"Yao, you're a little late than usual. Are you okay?" a voice of a French man called for me. Francis Bonnefoy. He is one of the coworkers that work with me at the cafe, he's one of the reason we actually have business running in Love Cafe; he really knows how to bring customers in.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. The bus was crowded and full, on top of that traffic was busy as usual," I explain, briefly passing by him and walked into the back room to grab one of the aprons.

"And I see your hair was much different today, special occasion~?" Francis raises his eyebrows at me.

"Nothing special, I just didn't feel like a ponytail today... I guess," I shrug while tying the apron around my waist.

"Well it suits you, mon ami~" Francis chuckles with his famous wink, I roll my eyes at him and walked to the register.

Someone was waiting up front, and I forced a smile on my olive skinned face. "Nihao, what would you like today?"

"Tea." he replied, digging through his pockets for his wallet.

"What kind? We have a lot of—"

"Surprise me," he hands me his credit card with a irritated face. I nodded and scan his card through the machine, handing it back to him.

"Would you like your receipt?" I asked, the man scoffs at me as a no and sits down at a table.

"Gaisi..." I curse under my breath and started recording his order. Francis already gets his order ready.

"Who's this order?" Francis walks over to me with the hot tea in his hands.

"Mr. Mean Freaky Eyebrows over there," I pointed to the man who ordered. Francis hums and walks it over to him confidently. I turn away and watched the others in the cafe; watching some of college students studying, some reading newspaper and enjoying cups of coffee.

"Y-Yao?"

I flinched when I heard my name, and turned around to face that stupid Italian. "L-Lucius?"

"You work here? Wow, small world huh," Lucius scratches the back of his neck as I glared at him.

I hate to admit that I used to like this shǎzi. We met in high school, we had a thing, but he never liked me in the way I liked him. He left in an instant and I still hate him to this day.
