Over the past month or so I have gotten to see the glow that my mother now has that she has been around John. My love for her has not been forgotten so now that I can see that she is getting the attention she deserves it shows me that love can come from all over.

After all these years I have seen her bend over backwards trying to find a way to support this family knowing that she didn't have the help of my father around.

Tonight my mother has a date with John, that I know because she constantly reminded me, she wanted to know what it would feel like after 8 years. I made plans to go to the carnival with Sarayah, she begged me over and over and I had finally decided that I was gonna suck it up and go.

I had to be ready by 5:00 so that we could get there early, incase there would be a lot of traffic. I picked up my phone and called my mother, she told me she would be at the salon at this hour. I sat and waited as the phone rung
~hello~
~hey ma, how are you holding up~
~I'm doing good, I'm sitting under the dryer right now, and then she's gonna gonna do a blowout and give me some curls~
~oh I'm sure that's gonna turn out pretty good, I can't wait for you to get here so that I can see~
~I should be there in an hour, what time are you leaving~
~5:00~
~I'll be there before you leave~ I looked up at the clock, it was currently 3:30, I got up so that I could find something to wear.
~she's coming to pick me up at 5:00 so that we can make it before traffic~
~that means you need to be getting ready now young lady, because you know how slow you are~ I scoffed
~ I already beat u to the chase, I'm looking for an outfit now~
~ good well I'll be home later, love you~
~love you too~ she hung up

I put my phone down and pulled through the many hangers I had to find something suitable to wear to the carnival. I decided on wearing something simple, so I went with some ripped jeans and a black Nirvana shirt that I picked out in the mall. I grabbed my chlothes and laid them out on the bed and walked to my dresser to get my speaker.

"Alexa play r&b playlist"
"playing r&b playlist" the first song that played was "call out my name" by the weekend. I put my hair up in a high ponytail and turn the handle on the shower so that I could let the water run so that I could get hot, because I love a steamy shower.

I lotioned up my body and then put on my socks and jeans, next I put on my tank top and shirt. After I was done putting on my chlothes, I sat in front of my vanity mirror so that I could put on my makeup. I said that I would do something light and natural, so I started with primer and then my foundation and conceiler. Once I blended in the base of my face I added setting powder and setting spray.

It was 4:20 now and I needed to do something with my hair. I plugged up my wand curler and sat and waited until it beeped. Minutes into me curling my hair my mom walked into the room.

"knock knock, hey baby I'm finally home". I took a good look at my mom and I almost burned myself by dropping my curling wand.

I barely recognized her, I got up from my seat.
"wow mom you look beautiful, I like this new you, where has she been hiding all this time?"
"What do you mean?, your trying to say that I couldn't dress myself up?". I threw my hands up in defense.
"I'm not saying that, all I'm saying is that it's great to finally see you smiling".

"Thank you baby" she hugged me
"you look beautiful as well, is Jullian tagging along" "honestly I don't know, I don't think its his type of scene"
"well if he comes or not, I'm sure you would have the same amount of fun"
"yea, I wasn't looking for him to come mom, it's kinda a me and Sarayah day, she's been begging me to go with her forever and I wanna spend some time with her".

"That's so sweet of you honey, well I'm gonna let you finish getting ready, I'm gonna go in my room to find something to wear" I laughed
"okay well good luck I hope you have an amazing time"
" I hope you do too" she walked out. I retraced my steps and began back curling my hair, I didn't try to make it perfect because I knew it was gonna be windy tonight.
