I use a fake account because I can have problems if someone shares this information. I would lose my job and probably more than that, but I have to tell someone. I have to calm my mind.
My story can save you from what I saw. I work in a hospital and I am in a position to provide access to the doctor's notes that I will now share with you. Then I will describe my own experience with the incident.
It all started on a Thursday at 3 am. I was not yet working at the time, I only arrived at 5 p.m. for a night shift. Everything went smoothly in the beginning until I started hearing stories from my colleagues that something strange was going on.
Earlier that day, an ambulance team surrounded by officers had brought a man in on a stretcher, handcuffed and tied up. He looked like a perfectly normal guy. He was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, was 32 years old and had never been to our hospital.
It was also unknown in our system. I was curious and decided to keep an eye on the doctors 'and nurses' notes. This was the first:
File number 8-5-12-16 / 13-5 created at 3:20 AM.
Patient brought in by ambulance, handcuffed by police. Man demanded that his handcuffs be removed.
Talks gibberishly, refuses to cooperate with staff and police, denies the use of alcohol or drugs. The patient continues to call to leave because someone is going to kill him. Do not want to explain anything to the staff. Attributed to sedative, says that he has been off drugs for months and now doesn't need any medications either, because he's not crazy.
Police stated that the patient was found next to the highway because several road users called the police after the patient threw grass and branches at passing cars and someone stopped. The patient refuses to explain why he did this and does not know how he got to Groningen. Patient screams and curses a lot, keeps repeating that he has to leave. Security has been called, patient is currently under investigation in the secured psychiatric ward.
New addition created at 4:04 AM.
Patient is still very aggressive with the staff, 4 security personnel present. Police are on standby. Patient still handcuffed. Demands that he be released because he is not safe here. Says he sees someone. Trying to flee, given medication to relax the patient.
Submission made at 4:45 am.
Handcuffs have been removed, patient is asleep, security has searched the man's pockets, found round stones painted to look like eyeballs. A stone found in the patient's cheek. It is not clear why the patient has these.
Addition created at 6:20 AM.
Another stone eyeball has been found on the patient's mouth and one in his hand. No one has seen the patient move, unclear where these stones come from.
New addition created at 12:13 PM.
The patient has been visited and examined together with Dr Verschuren, who will be responsible for the care plan. The patient has arrived at the crisis department of the psychiatry wing. He says he has no history of having depression. He keeps repeating that he is not crazy and still refuses to take medication for his fears. He used to take Resperidone because of bipolar disorder but says he stopped taking this medication when he started living on his own. His family lives in Maastricht and has no idea how he ended up in Groningen. He says he was taken off the road because he was trying to arrange a lift to get away from "it." He then refuses to explain what it is and remains silent when asked about it. He indicates that he has no medical history.
New addition created at 13:35.
Patient given a sandwich but refuses to eat it. The patient has indicated that he does not want to receive a visit.
