As everyone gathered in the Big House, Chiron told us about the prophecy Rachel had spoken yesterday. "Reyna," He gestured at me, showing that be wanted me to tell them the prophecy. I cleared my throat and recited the prophecy I had heard from Rachel in my dreams last night:
The son of Death and the daughter or Rome,
To together, defeat, and bring Fate home.
A curse to be told and broken,
To a soldiers name unspoken.
Another shall be rejoined,
With a love stuck like two joints.
And to scale the wall of friendships lost,
To pay a price worth a heart's cost.Everyone was silent for a moment as I spoke the last line. Since this morning, I had always thought about the prophecy. The son of Death and the daughter of Rome. The son of Death had to be Nico, right? And I'm guessing the daughter of Rome. Another shall be rejoined, with a love stuck like two joints. I wondered who that could be for a while. It was truly the last line that bothered Reyna most. To pay a price worth a heart's cost. Once again, she glanced at Nico, who had come out and sat beside Jason and Clarisse.
Chiron's voice jolted me back to reality. "It seems we have a quest. Nico and Reyna will go. Does anyone object?" The whole room was silent. He nodded. "Very well," he turned to Nico and then to me. "You should pack up. You'll leave tomorrow at dawn." He told us.
As everyone left and I headed to the Athena cabin where I was staying, since she was the Greek Goddess of War Strategies, much like my mother, Bellona, the Roman Goddess of War, I heard someone call my name. "Reyna! Wait up!" I recognized Nico's voice. I turned around to see him coming this way.
When he reached me, we shook hands. "So, I was wondering about the prophecy and I think I might have found out about the "Another shall be rejoined" part." He said. I raised an eyebrow. "Really?" He nodded. "You remember how after the war, Leo, he kind of..." He trailed off, but he didn't need to finish.
When the war against Gaea had happened 3 years ago, Leo had sacrificed himself to destroy Gaea, and Octavian as well, as he launched himself into the air towards them(by accident of course, but no one really minded). Anyways, Nico had told us that he sensed something strange about Leo's death. Everyone had hoped that he was still alive, but after 3 years, Reyna knew it was hardly possible.
"I guess, though I'm not sure how." I reasoned. He nodded in agreement. Just then, the dinner horn blew. "Well, I got to go. See you later." He started to head off but he hesitated. He quickly turned to me and did the most unexpected thing. He kissed me. He blushed and quickly ran off while I just stood there like and idiot, staring after him.
