Eclipse/Snowbush

"Mama where are we going?" A young kit named Eclipse asked though we know her as Snowbush. Her headed tilted in curiosity as she tried to match her mothers long strides, which was quite difficult with her tiny legs.

"A place you'll love..." a light brown molly answered, her name was Breeze.

Eclipse couldn't see it but her mother had a dead expression in her eyes, a look that was ever present whenever she was near her mother, but this time it seemed darker.

After walking until the sun set they came upon a place where there were only sand dunes, Breeze ended up finding one lone rock, that had two cacti on either side of it. She smiled down at her daughter, it didn't reach her eyes.

"Eclipse, the gods told me of this place. They say if a kit waits upon this rock with a wish in their heart it will come true." She paused letting that sink in her daughters head, her lip curled in disgust  as she watched Eclipse smile then she continued.

"You can wish for Rabbit to return to us, though the gods said I must be hidden somewhere else or it won't come true." This time Breeze smiled with a wicked look in her eye.

"Really mama? Okay I'll do that! I wanna see my sissy." She finished with a determined look on her little face.

Eclipse with the assistance of her mother got on top of the big rock and sat down.

Eclipse closed her eyes for but a moment, when she opened them her mother was gone. *Probably wants me to start* Eclipse thought to herself with a slight worried look.

With a deep scared breath she prayed to the gods with one thought in mine *I want my sister to come back* she wished that with all of her heart.

-A few hours pass-

It was now was incredibly dark, the full moon lighting up a small amount of the world that sat in-front of her, Eclipse curled her tail around herself as she began to shake from the cold.

"Mama?! I'm c-cold, can we go home now?" There was no answer,  scary thoughts began to swarm Eclipse. Maybe a jackal got her mother? Or maybe.. she left her. The last thought was enough to get Eclipse to start crying.

"I want my dad!~" Eclipse wailed as she formed into a small little white ball of despair.

At some point Eclipse fell asleep, her body shook every few moments due to the chill in the air. What Eclipse didn't detect in her slumber was paw-steps approaching her.

A mysterious figure stood by the rock and stared at the kit, a frown visible on their face.

"Eclipse?" A gentle paw prodded the young kit awake. She jumped startled until she registered who woke her. She squealed happily.

"Dad!" Then she jumped into her fathers chest, in joying the warmth it provided. She didn't see the angry look that festered in the toms eye, anger at his mate, Breeze.

"Let's go home kiddo"
