oblivious... (bokuto x female Reader)

when we first met...

(y/n) pov (flashback)
I had just moved to a city in Japan it was very crowded and different then the small town I used to live in i wouldn't say I didn't have any friends because I had friends just not many because i am very quiet and I find loud people very annoying but now I have no friends.. Today is my first day at my new school and I was in a grade 7/8 split
I walked into the classroom and met eyes with a gray haired boy his golden eyes lit up as he smiled and ran over to me " Hi you must be the new student! I'm  Kōtarō Bokuto what's your name?!" He said almost yelling "Oh h-hi I'm (Y/n) nice to meet you Kōtarō!" I said even tho I found him a little irritating.. "Call me Bokuto it's easier.. W-would you like to sit with me (y/n)?" He asked smiling widely. I wanted to say no but it was something about his smile that I just couldn't "yeah sure bokuto!" I said smiling softly he looked really happy and took me by the hand and ran to his desk.
For the rest of the year we were attached to the hip almost we were always together we would have sleep overs every weekend and everything even tho he at first irritated me I began to actually enjoy being around him even tho he was loud and obnoxious but then it reached the end of the year and I attended Bokuto's graduation after I ran to him giving him a big hug and started crying "you're my only friend what am I gonna do without you next year what if no one likes me what if I get bullied" he pulled me closer and lifted up my head so I was looking at him with a tear rolling down his cheek he smiled widely "Don't be stupid (y/n) you're still my best friend and will always be your still gonna see me every weekend and I'll walk you home whenever I can and hang out with you so don't worry and if anyone so thinks to even look at you the wrong way I will end them!" I giggled at him "thank you bokuto you're the best!" I said smiling and burying my head into his chest "okay okay let's get you some cake!" He said as he wiped away my tears and pulled me towards the cake  we took pictures and then we had a sleep over

Time skip to where it's  your second year and bokuto's third year of high school (middle of the year sorta)

Bokuto's pov
"Come on (y/n) hurry up we're going to be late" I complained sitting on her bed "I'm just trying to figure out what to wear here what would look better?" She held up black ripped jeans and my black volleyball ball hoodie that had a number 4 on the front and said "Fukurodani high school volleyball ball club Kōtarō bokuto (Captain)" on the back and a pair of regular blue jeans realizing she was planning on wearing my hoodie with either or "Ohhh so that's wear my hoodie I let you wear went I thought you said you lost it" I said smirking "S-shut up bokuto it's a nice sweater and it reminds me of you since I only see you at lunch" she said as her face went red is she blushing? I thought "Aw how cute" I giggled her face got even redder as she shot me a glare"but I think you should wear the black jeans they would look the best on you but you look good in anything so.. yeah "  crap what was that "oh okay thanks bokuto I'm gonna go change in the bathroom!" She said going into the bathroom god she's so cute I thought to myself  while laying on her bed then I heard the door open i shot up and stared at her "I don't know I look bad in this Bokuto" she said looking sad "Bokuto? Are you okay" she said and I realized I was staring i ran over to her blushing "what you talking about (y/n) you look amazing as always! But let me do something you'll look even better"I smiled at her and then turned her around I grabbed at her hair elastic and took her hair out of the pony tail it was always in "Perfect you look AMAZING  (y/n)!"  I yelled Especially in my sweater that everyone will know it's mine I smirked as I thought to myself "why are you obsessed with me having my hair down?she asked me "I don't know I just never see you with your hair down and you look even prettier to me with your hair down not that you don't always look perfect  please wear it down today for me?" I said smiling giving puppy dog eyes

(Y/n) pov
God that smile is gonna be the death of me "okay okay I'll wear my hair down are you happy?" He jumped up and down happily "REALLY! AH THANK YOU" he said hugging me "ok bokuto let's go were gonna be late " I said as we walked to school I couldn't help but play with the strings of Bokuto's hoodie while we talked about his volleyball practice match today with nekoma because it was a Friday ah his hoodie even smelt like him we kept walking and bokuto walked me to class "see you at lunch bokuto!" I said as I hugged him tightly "see you at lunch (y/n) ! He said hugging me and moving my hair he said " please keep your hair down" he said as he walked away "fine you dummy" I said "shut up you hoodie thief" I grinned and sat down and put head phones in as was about to tie my hair back to do some homework because it was a study period as I grabbed my hair tie I got a text

I smiled at my phone I finished my homework and then the bell rang I got to my next class sat in the back as usual waiting for lunch so I could see bokuto  and probably the team because they have a practice match as soon as the bell rang I felt someone grab me and throw me over their shoulder I would've panicked but I could tell it was bokuto I playfully acted like I was scared making some people look over but I didn't care when I was with bokuto he set me down in the grass and sat next to me "(y/n) could you come to the practice game? I could really use my goodluck charm."He said "Of course bokuto I was planning on coming anyway you didn't need to ask" I smiled at him the rest of the team showed up like I thought and we talked strategy the rest of the day went by quickly and it was time for Bokuto's game I was running to the gym when a boy stoped me he started talking to me and asked me on a date "sorry I'm busy right now" I said walking away he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him an it really hurt "OW LET GO OF ME YOU'RE HURTING ME" I yelled "no you aren't you are always by yourself you're a lair" "LET GO PLEASE" I yelled.

Bokuto pov
"LET GO YOU'RE HURTING ME" I heard in the distance as the team and I were setting up the net I dropped everything "guys did you hear that it sounded like (y/n)" I immediately ran towards the yell and hurt another one "LET GO PLEASE" I hear I knew for sure it was (y/n) I saw a boy was holding her by her wrist "LET HER GO RIGHT NOW!" I yelled angrily at the boy "Woah buddy this isn't any of you business back off" he said "i don't think you heard me let me repeat myself FUCKING LET HER GO" I yelled in his face "this doesn't concern you" he said I look over and see (y/n) crying because of how hard he grabbed her especially because her arms are very delicate I picked the boy up by his shirt and he let go of (y/n) I held him up off the ground and stared at him "YES IT IS MY CONCERN IF YOU EVER EVEN LOOK AT (Y/N) I WILL KILL YOU DO YOU UNDERSTAND" I yelled at him with (y/n) hidden behind me from the boy "y-yes" he whimpered "pardon I didn't hear you" "Y-YES ILL NEVER LOOK AT HER AGAIN" he said "better not now get lost before I punch you" I snarled and dropped him and he ran off and saw my name on the hoddie she was wearing I turned over to (y/n) as quickly as possible.

(Y/n) pov
"BOKUTO!" I yelled sobbing and hugged him as if I would never see him again "what happened?" He asked as he held me as tight as humanly possible as I sobbed "h- he-he asked me out as I was on my way to your g-game and I told him I was busy and he grabbed my wrist and called me a l-lair and started going harder and wouldn't let g-go I'm so glad y-you came" I hugged him even tighter crying even more "Don't worry (y/n) like I told you in grade 8 I'll always be here to protect you and I'll kill anyone who hurts you it's all okay now I'll get ice for your wrist when we get to the gym okay?" He said softly I've never seen bokuto mad and definitely never that mad I'm so lucky to have him I thought and nodded to him still shaken up bokuto picked me up bridal style and I nuzzled my head into his warm chest we got to the gym and nekoma was there waiting bokuto put me down and sat with my on the bench as he yelled for someone to get me ice.
Lev from nekoma said he would get it because he had the longest legs I was friends with the nekoma team and so was bokuto they all walked over and saw I was crying Lev got back and gave bokuto the ice for my arm he put it on my arm and they asked what happened "you guys know how (y/n)'s arms are very sensitive some asshole asked her out and when she was coming here and she said no and that she was busy he grabbed her wrist and wouldn't let her go dispite her yelling to be let go and that it hurt and he went harder" he said angrily "l-luckly bokuto heard me and ran over and saved me" I said as I hugged bokuto tightly "my hero thank you I think I'm okay now I know I'm safe here with you and the others but always with you know go start the game so I can get to cheering!" I said smiling "aw you two are too cute! Yaku said he giggled while both of us blushed and they all ran on the court except bokuto he just kept hugging me and kissed my forehead softly and smiled at me then ran into the court I blushed did that just happen? The game started about ten minutes later and bokuto was nailing every single spike and even serve we quickly won the set I was so happy "YES BOKUTO YOU CAN DO THIS I BELIEVE IN YOU" I yelled he smiled over to me and started playing even better this is the best I've ever seen him play they quickly on the other set to I got up and jumped onto bokuto knocking him to the ground "YOU WERE EVEN MORE AMAZING THEN YOU USUALLY ARE I DIDN'T KNOW WE WOULD WIN THAT QUICK " I yelled sitting on top of Bokuto I blushed realizing how I was sitting but stayed he sat up "well I had to I'm your hero after all aren't I?" He smirked at me "shut up bokuto" I giggled he looked sad "but yes you're my hero always have been always will be" we smiled at eachother as he helped me up
