I hear my feet patter on the ground as I run, I feel my heart race and breath getting faster and faster. He told me to run, to run as far as I could, saying that they were coming, they were coming for us. I wanted to stay and fight, but I knew, for the good of our people, I must run, I have to get her to safety.

I clutch her tighter in my arms as I increase speed, constantly looking over my shoulder for anyone hoping to find me. And soon my luck ran out, I find myself surrounded, by men in dark armor, some with tainted animals by their side. I know I must survive this, but I don't see a way out. Until I see a flash of gold in the fray, seeing a leopard with green eyes by my side, protecting me from the darkness, soon however she gets cornered, and I have to run alone.

I hear a small cry from inside the bundle in my arms, I try to get her to quiet down so we don't attract attention, but the time she finished, it was too late. I spy in the shadows a large black wolf, with eyes like freshly fallen snow. I clutch her close to my arms, fearing for both our lives, but I soon see on the ground, roots slowly crawling to subdue the wolf.

I turn to see Tellarun, another friendly face. He shouted for me to run, saying that the portal was close by. Composing myself I ran again, hearing the cries and the drums of war. I knew neither me nor my daughter would be safe here.

I saw the portal insight, thanking the great heron, I sprint towards it, just seeing in the corner of my eye, the damage this war has done to the land. I stop just a step away from the portal, to see a lieutenant running at me full speed, with me holding a stern face, and my daughter's hair flowing in the wind, I step into the portal.

I walk out of it, looking around at the city I now stand-in, and the place I shall soon call my home, and the home of my daughter, I turn back to see the portal has closed. Sighing I walk on, hoping to make a life here, for soon the prophecy shall be fulfilled. And Edelin will be safe again, safe for my Dawn.

A/N:

And here is the first chapter. Though technically the prologue, but whatever. I hope you enjoy this book. And you can read about the publishing schedule in the conversation part of my profile. If you don't want to... too bad. I'm just kidding, I will be posting a new chapter every Sunday, except for today, where I'm posting the first five chapters(AKA Prologue-Chapter 4). Because I want to put this book into various awards. Anyways, I hope you like this book, please vote, comment your opinion so far, and follow if you haven't and I will see you in the next chapter.

Your Obedient Writer,

Alex.

P.S(from future, or present me): I will also be doing various edits throughout so... I might post an update on whether or not I'm going on an editing spree. Who knows it might be when I have absolutely nothing creative in my system. But bye for real this time.
