“Let's get out of this town,” He whispered into my ear, slow and sensual. “Drive out of the city, away from the crowds.”

I was just another game, I reminded myself, as my heart beat faster and a blush tainted my cheeks. I was just another one of his games.

I thought Heaven can’t help me now. I was in love with him, Natsume Hyuuga, a player playing just another one of those games.

I was in love with him, even before the popularity, before all the rumors of the new ‘bad boy’ of the school.

We were in the same school before, me, always in the shadows, him, always in the spotlight.

I watched him, because somehow he was everywhere I was, and slowly I my eyes would habitually search the room for a familiar shade of raven and crimson.

I understood though.

Nothing lasts forever, I knew. I always knew, from the very first time he asked me out with that smirk of his, a bundle of pink roses wrapped beautifully in his arms, I knew it wouldn’t last forever.

I would be thrown away just like all his other toys.

I was beyond surprised—suspicious, even—when he presented me with that bundle of roses, it’s lovely scent enveloping me. It must be a dare, a fluke, another game he and his friends play for fun.

To him, feelings mean nothing. He cares nothing about others, only his own interests.

But I still said yes, I still felt my heart beat fast, and I fell. I fell deep and hard for him, knowing he wouldn’t catch me.

He was sweet, everything you would want in a guy. He’s so tall, and handsome as hell, every single girl would stop and stare as we walked down the streets. I felt uncomfortable each time we went out.

I was jealous. I knew there were so many other girls better than me, prettier than me. Every time he turns to smile at another girl, I fume.

He doesn’t understand why, because he treats me just as a toy.

He's so bad, but he does it so well. Flowers every morning, sweet words every day, he does it all too well, like he really does want to do this for me, but I knew better. He would never do something like this unless he wants me to fall deeper.

I can see the end as it begins, the end looming over me like the shadows in my room. It will never go away, that dreadful knowledge that one day this will end, that I’m digging my own grave.

He asked me out with that smirk of his, a bundle of pink roses wrapped beautifully in his arms.

“Will you be my girlfriend?” His voice ran through my spine with a pleasant shiver, a rough, rich sound.

I smiled a sad smile, knowing I would lose his game, but before I said yes, I told him that my one condition is:

“Say you'll remember me. Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset, babe. Red lips and rosy cheeks, say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams.”
