Episode 3 The Demise of Shax

"That doesn't ring a bell." Prue said, as she sat in her car.

"Yeah, well, that's all I got right now." Darryl replied.She sighed. "Alright, thanks Darryl, keep me posted." She said, and hung up. She started to feel a bit of cold air, the same air she felt at the manor. She shrugged it off, and started her car, and pulled out of the parking lot, she didn't notice the small tornado of leaves that appeared as she sped off, and she made her way back to the manor."Piper! Phoebe!" Prue called, walking in the door, taking her jacket off and hanging up on the hook. She then made her way into the foyer, Piper and Phoebe both came in from the kitchen. "Hey, what happened?" Phoebe asked. "Darryl met me at the hospital and I saw our victim." Prue said and paused, remembering the sleeping face of the young woman in the hospital. "There was something so. . . Familiar about her, it's hard to explain." "Did you know who she was?" Phoebe asked."No, I just, I feel something, like some kind of weird..." she struggled for the words. "Like I'm supposed to know her? I know, I sound entirely crazy." "No you don't. I mean, you might not know what the reason is right now, but I'm sure you'll find out why." Phoebe said. "Were you able to find anything else out?""Not much, just that she was found by two pedestrians, she has severe injuries, she's in a medically induced coma and Dr. Griffiths saved her life, which must explain why Shax killed him." "Yeah, but what is so special about this girl that the source himself would want her dead? You know? I mean, it doesn't make sense." Phoebe asked. "Maybe she's an up and coming powerful witch that he viewed as a threat? I mean who knows why the source does anything the source does." Piper replied. "Well, we have to find out who this girl is. Because if Shax finds out that she's not dead, he's going to come back and finish the job." Prue said. "But we can take a two minute break." Phoebe said, she has a distinct tone in her voice. "Why would we do that? The quick we find out who this girl is and vanquish Shax, the quicker we can get back to preparing for the source. These side missions are making us lose focus." "Prue! Hello! I am not the only one that sees the giant elephant in the room! Piper does too... but we haven't even had a minute to process..."phoebe paused. "That Andy saved your life."Prue stood there for a second, her expression unreadable, which wasn't uncommon. "I know. But, he's also a white lighter." She finally said, emotionless. "So?""So? I mean, look at all the hell you and Leo went through! All the tests the elders put you two through, they're not going to allow it to happen again, you two were the exception to the rule. Besides, I think an innocent is more important than my love life." She sounded like she urgently wanted to get back to business."Sweetie, it's not just your love life." Piper said"You haven't seen him in 3 years." Phoebe said. A tear finally escaped Prue's eye. "Yeah! Exactly Phoebe, and the last memory I have of him, the last image I have in my head, is close his eyes for the final time. So forgive me if I'm not really ready to handle going there right now." Piper and Phoebe both hugged her. "I'm sorry sweetie, I - I don't even know how I didn't realize. I'm sorry." Prue dried her eyes. "It's fine, I'm just, not ready to go there yet. So, can we please just focus on vanquishing Shax, and saving that girl?" Both sisters nodded in agreement. "Okay, Ill call Darryl and tell him to have someone keep an eye on her, this guys not going to stop coming after her if he knows she's alive. Next, we have to come up with a plan of attack, we know this demon is not afraid to expose magic, and we are not going down the road again, Phoebe, you go look at the book of shadows, research anything you can find on Shax, including what we already know, also look up aerokinetic based powers, see if we can find a weakness there, maybe come up with a spell to dis empower him. Piper, hit the kitchen, come up with the strongest potion you can, just in case he gets one of us off guard, we'll keep it on us at all times. I'm gonna talk to Leo, and work with Darryl, see if we can find out anything about our mystery girl and why the source wants her dead. We'll meet back here and go over the details we've all found. So let's divide and conquer." Prue said, with authority in her voice, and she walked out of the room with out another word."She is so good at that." Piper said."Too good." Phoebe replied and they both went to do the tasks they were assigned. "Leo!" Prue called from the conservatory. He orbed in behind her. "What's going on?""I got a name. Paige Matthews. Do you have any idea who that might be?" Leo thought for a moment. "No, why?""That's the name of the victim Dr. Griffiths saved. We're pretty sure she's who Shax was after, she was a Jane Doe up until about an hour ago." "Why would the source send his personal assassin to kill a random girl though?""Well, she's obviously not random. And she has to be pretty powerful for The Source himself to want her dead, and the doctor that saved her. Can you check with the elders? See if they know anything?""Sure." He said and orbed out. Prue called Darryl when Leo left, but got his voicemail, so she left one saying to call her back. Once she got off the phone, she went into the kitchen. As soon as she walked in, she grimaced and covered her nose. "Oh my god Piper, what is that?" Piper smiled. "It's a potion that basically turns demon flesh into soap.""That doesn't smell like any soap I'd ever use. Bright side? If the potion itself doesn't kill him, the smell will." Piper chuckled sarcastically and stuck her tongue out at Prue. "Did Leo or Darryl say anything about our girl?" "No, Leo said the name didn't ring a bell, and I called Darryl, but there was no answer. It's just, it's so weird, when I was there, when I was looking at her, I swear it felt like I was looking at you or Phoebe in that bed." "And you're sure you've never met her before?"Prue shook her head. "Not in this life time." "Well, we gotta find out who she is and get her protected before Shax realizes she's alive." Piper said. Prue sighed. "Yeah, that's my main concern." "Guys! I think I might have a plan." Phoebe said, coming into the kitchen. She wretched. "Oh my god Piper, I hope that's not dinner." She said, covering her nose with her shirt." Piper smiled. "Hope you're hungry." Prue chuckled. "So, what's your plan?" "We vanquish Shax!" Phoebe said, enthusiastically. Piper smiled and looked at Prue, Prue looked at Phoebe like she was expecting her to say something else, then looked at Piper when she didn't. "Uh, yeah Pheebs, that's the whole point." Phoebe rolled her eyes. "No, like we vanquish him now, that way we can figure out who that girl is." Piper and Prue looked at each other. "That's what you came up with?" "Well, not just that. Okay, I was looking in the book, and I came across something called a crystal cage, basically we bless these crystals and form a circle and whatever is trapped inside can't get out. So we set up the cage, summon Shax to us, inside the cage, and vanquish him with the power of three spell." "But there's no summoning spell. " "Correction, there was no summoning spell. There is now." Phoebe said, smiling, holding a piece of paper in her hand. "It's so simple, yet so brilliant. Okay, let's get the crystals." Prue said, hopping up off the stool by the island, the three of them went up to the attic, and grabbed their box of crystals. Each of them blessed them, and placed them in a circle, with only one crystal missing. "We ready?" Piper asked.Prue pauses. "Somethings not right." She said.Piper and Phoebe look at each other."What are you talking about?" Piper asked. "It's like, cold air. Oh no, incoming!" She called, as a tornado appeared in the attic, ripping the door off the hinges and blowing the glass out of the window. Shax appeared surrounded in leaves again, and threw an energy burst at the sisters, they dove out of the way, so that only the wall behind them was damaged. Piper tried to freeze him but ended blowing up a bookshelf directly behind him.He threw an energy blast at her which sent her flying into the ceiling, she landed face down. Shax then turned to Prue, ready to attack, but Phoebe jumped in front of her, and she too, got thrown into the wall. Shax finally had Prue alone, he was ready to attack when out of nowhere, a bright orb of blue and white light gathered around Shax's neck, and Andy appeared, on his back, with his arms choking the blue demon. "Say the damn spell!" He yelled, as Shax fought him off. Prue went over to Piper first."Piper! Piper come on wake up!" She called, tears in her eyes looking at her sisters lifeless body. She went over to a Phoebe, "Pheebs! No no no." She panicked. Leo orbed In, just in time for all the commotion. "Leo! Heal them!" Prue yelled at him, he knelt down and healed them both. Shax finally got Andy off his back, he flung him into the wall on the other side of the attic. "Come on guys now!" Prue called, grabbing the hands of her sisters. "Evil wind that blows, that which forms below, no longer may you dwell. Death takes you with this spell!" The three chanted. The demon screeched, and started bubbling up from the inside, to finally meet his demise in a large explosion that shook the attic. "Now that was a vanquish." Piper said. "That's one down. Now we gotta focus on our innocent. My guess is, if the source sent one demon after her, he'll send more." Prue said. "True. And we will worry about that, but right now, I think we should celebrate a vanquish well done. Even if it didn't go quite as planned. Margaritas anyone?" Phoebe asked, happily. Piper looked at Prue, and she smiled. "Okay fine, but we start on this innocent first thing tomorrow morning." "Deal!" Phoebe smiled, put her arms around both sisters, and went downstairs. They made their margaritas and had a great rest of their night.
