For a moment, neither of them moved, slowly inspecting the other. Killua lingered on Hyacinth's soft but determined face, gazing at her colorful droopy eyes. He placed his hands behind his head and closed his eyes, muttering a few words.

"I give up."

The entire audience went quiet as he proceeded to walk off. Hyacinth's eyes widened in surprise, but then she hung her head. The boy didn't notice as tension filled the room as Hyacinth looked over her shoulder.

"Hey. . ."

Killua figured the girl was talking to him, and turned around. A wave of fear hit him once he saw her staring him down, her dark and vicious glare sending chills down his spine. Her dilated pupils bore into him with the deadly look that alone could kill a horde. It was the most threatening evil eye he had ever seen, and he lived with a family of assassins. Not even his oldest brother could do that.

"Are you calling me weak?"

The silverette gulped and shook his head frantically. He realized the mistake he made by forfeiting his last match and labeling his opponent as weak. Hyacinth thought that he meant the same thing with her. In reality, Killua simply couldn't bring himself to fight the girl.

"No! I just didn't want to fight you, that's all. Plus, since I gave up, you passed. Just showing some chivalry."

The girl's face went back to normal as quickly as it had changed, and Hyacinth looked at him in slight disbelief. "Really? Thank you, Killua."  She walked to the side of the arena and stood next to him, as if she hadn't killed him with her eyes moments earlier. She held out her fist in front of her, looking up at the boy. "Fistbump?"

Killua's face went slack as he stared at the girl, but he soon put on a smile and met her fist with his. "Fistbump."

"Congrats, Hyacinth, you're a Hunter!" Kurapika exclaimed as he pat her head. Leorio nodded in agreement. Hyacinth nodded as well, looking up at the duo. "Wait, what's this?"

Kurapika looked at Hyacinth's head, feeling a large bump hidden beneath her messy hair. "What did you do? There's a huge bump here."

"Oh, that's from a while ago," she answered, feeling the spot herself. Kurapika continued to look.

"And there's another one here! Why are you getting injured so much?"

Hyacinth pursed her lips in thought before answering. "That one's from the Fourth Phase, I got hit with a rock."  Kurapika had Leorio check both as he was a doctor-in-training, and he assured the worried blonde that they were healing on their own, thankfully. Killua's curiosity made him look too, and Hyacinth sighed as they all simultaneously fretted over her knots. Kurapika pat her head a final time before turning to the board to see who was going next.
