--APPEARANCE
Sydney looks healthy. With a fuller body type, shining blonde hair, and gently sunkissed skin- nobody would have any reason to believe that things are not as perfect as they seem. Dark shadows under Syd's eyes are masked by layers of makeup, and a bright smile keeps anyone from questioning if everything is alright. That classic smile- all teeth artificially straightened from years of braces- free from flaws besides one, glaring issue. A small gap in between the two front teeth. Despite attempts from dentists for years, Sydney's tooth gap has somehow prevailed.
And while it remains to be her parent's least favorite, normal, aspect of their daughter- Syd has learned to love it. Claiming that "it represents that even when my mind betrays me- my body has some sort of say in the matter."
--PERSONALITY
Deceptively chipper and optimistic, Sydney shines in groups, feeding off their company like someone starved for attention- which is somewhat true. One of the main reasons why Sydney has remained so naive- despite being an adult, was her overly sheltered life. After her brother's death, Sydney's parents pulled her close and kept her there- in their suffocating grip. By telling her horror stories of the outside world in order to "protect their little girl," they installed fear of even leaving the house for short periods of time.
As a child, Sydney would suffer nightmares of shadowy figures creeping into her room and brutally murdering her- her parents' warnings of the outside ringing through her ears. By the time she was a teenager, Sydney refused to leave the house- only going outside if she remained in the yard.
As a born extrovert- this suffocating, lonely life, wore down on Sydney. Despite her best attempts to remain bright and happy- watching and rewatching Disney movies, quoting songs word for word, and reenacting certain pivotal points of the stories- nothing seemed to help.
Eventually, her parents realized they had to somehow reintegrate Sydney into society. They began by taking her on walks, standing firm on either side of their daughter, they kept an iron like grip on her arm. Keeping her steady or keeping her chained down, Sydney couldn't tell. Eventually, while Sydney can be perceived as normal from someone on the outside looking in, she is anything but. Riddled with fear for the world yet also the need to explore it- she is an oxymoron.
Most of Sydney's personality is what she has learned from watching various Disney movies. Taking the best aspects of the various princesses for her own. Tiana's determination, Ariel's curiosity, Belle's kindness, but there was one who she could relate the most to.
Repunzle.
Funnily enough, it was the one movie she wasn't allowed to watch. However, late at night, when everyone in the house was asleep, she would sneak viewings, silently wishing she could catch herself a Flynn Rider.
--ABILITIES
Sydney's inner demons become real. Whatever fear she holds can become tangible- slipping from her mind into the real world around her.
--WEAKNESSES
Syd suffers from crippling anxiety of almost everything and anything. She is prone to freezing up in high stress situations, her mind full of worst case scenarios. This oftentimes only leads to worse situations, as her fears do not help anyone.
--FEARS
There seems to be no limit. Sydney's parents effectively ruined her- placing uncertainty and fear into every unfamiliar aspect of her life.
--LIKES
Sydney loves the familiar. From the soft smell of freshly baked cookies or to the feel of her dog's fur under her fingers, Sydney's only safe space seems to be her house- however she can't help but long for something more- while also fearing it. She wants to travel, to meet people, to be happy and have her own life.
