Just a quick note before you start reading on the next twelve chapters, I would like to acknowledge that most of the key events in this short novel really occurred. All characters, however, are of my own imagination.
The narrative is in English, but I decided to keep majority of the dialogue in Filipino as it sets the tone correctly.
The idea was on my shelf for a good twelve years before I finally had the chance to piece them all together while on quarantine.
I chose the works of the brothers Roberto Villanueva (1947 -1995) and Ben-Hur Villanueva (1938 - 2020) as the central themes of inspiration and art style. May we continue to celebrate their art which speaks high of our land as we protect what is rightfully ours through their heavens.
The union of my fascination with art and culture, as well as the continuous fight for equality of my peoples have made this possible. Night and Day is my first child.
