Chapter 20 || A new friend

(This takes two days after chapter 19)

__3rd Person POV__

The past few days was a bit boring, not much to do for the twins. They were spending more time with Stan, Wendy and Soos. Ford has been spending his day at the lab. He hasn't told any news about the souls yet, but it just makes the twins a bit curious. The people working on the project haven't talked to them about it at all.

Were the souls alright?

Mabel decided to take a walk to get away from the thoughts that came in her and her brother's head.

She walked to the forest calmly. On the path she took she saw some of the monsters she and her brother met last summer. The gnomes were wearing winter clothes and the minotaurs where wearing puffy jackets made by a few animals they killed. She waved to them happily and continued. She stopped at a cliff, which was completely destroyed.

Mabel, shocked, backed away and touched a tree. It had black remains on them. She takes a little bit with her finger and stared at it.

"This was Chara's doing. Wonder what happened." Mabel wonders.

She left the scene and went to the frozen river where she and Frisk went to the other day. She spotted the tree she hit her head with not far off.

Mabel giggled then walked away. In the distance was Dogamy, Dogaressa, Endogeny, Lesser Dog and Greater Dog having a little walk. Doggo was there with them.

This made Mabel realize that the forest creatures and the monsters were getting along and that they enjoyed the forest a lot.

Behind her were a family of whimsums fluttering around. Mabel thought to not disturb them , due to Frisk saying that they get scared easily with the look on their faces.

Mabel continued to walk, meeting some of the monsters, including Temmies, Muffet giving her pet a walk, Grillby and his daughter Fuku, Alphys and Undyne on a date, Toriel and Asgore admiring the view....

But then Mabel stopped when she heard a girl's voice, it sounded like she was struggling with something. She followed the voice and it led her to a young girl . She was taller than Mabel , but her face made it seem she was the same age as her. She was attempting to save a lil' white dog from falling from a tree.

The girl wore a dark green jacket, long brown boots, she had small shorts hidden by her jacket. Her hair was brown and her eyes were green. Her skin was pale like Chara's. When the pup fell down, the girl caught him immediately.

"Safe and sound." She says with relief. She looks at Mabel and was shocked to see her.

"Mabel!" She exclaims.

Mabel looked at her weirdly.

"You know my name?" She asks.

"Mabel! It's me! Mint."

If Mabel was drinking something, she'd spit everything out.

"Mint?! You-you're..."

"Human! Yes I know." Mint says, petting Toby.

"H-how?"

"Well, surprisingly, Ford tested his reviving thing on me, and it worked. After doing that, he slept and didn't realize the effects worked! My soul went back to my coffin,and my body was surprisingly preserved. I was wrapped in bandages, and I broke out. I bumped into Mettaton, who instantly recognized me, and gave me these! I decided to see what happened in the few hundred years that passed by."

Mabel was absolutely speechless.

"I gotta show you to the others!"

"Hm? "Mint asks before getting pulled by Mabel to the shack with Toby. When Mabel kicked the door open, everyone looked at her.

"I need Ford!" She shouts. Stan goes to the bunker and later comes back with Ford. He looked like he just woke up.

"Look what you have done!" She exclaims , pulling Mint by her side.

"And that's ?" Stan asks.

Ford was the only one who reacted strongly.

"Sonofagun! It worked!"He smiles, happily. He was about to ask Mint how the hell did she get out of the shack, but she was gone, she went into the bunker and everyone followed the strange girl. She was there, in front of the glass , waving at the other souls who were super excited.

"Hi Sabrina! Hi Coco!" She exclaims.

"You know their real names?" Dipper asks.

"Of course! We met in the afterlife!" She says.

Soon enough, everyone knew what had happened, and were very curious. Dipper started to buzz her with questions , to which she never answered, because she was more focused on seeing the outside world then answering the questions of a dork.

Mint then reunited with Sans and Papyrus, which was a heartwarming sight. When they saw her, they were both about to cry, and they did. Papyrus hugged her so tightly, it seemed she could die but Mint didn't show any pain. Papyrus couldn't stop sniffling to the point we couldn't hear his words since his sniffs and sobs was so loud. When he put her down, Sans hugged her really, really, tight.Mint hugged him back , saying that she missed them too.

When Mint reunited with Toriel , Toriel was crying on the floor, telling the child , who was hers at some point, how much she missed them. Asgore was pleading for forgiveness. Mint forgave him many times though.

"I would like to live with you both, if you don't mind..."

The two hug her tightly.

"Yes!" They exclaim. "Well even adopt the next ones!" Toriel says. She enters the house and tells the kids about Mint, to which they seemed fine with her being part of the family.

The couple was already planning a large room for the next children that will stay with them. Eventually they decided that they will live in the basement and make it more lively, because the space there is enough for 6 beds for the kids. They decided that they'll also paint the room white to make it much more brighter, and place LED lights too. Mint decided to help too , with the situation.

After that, Mint had to also forgive Undyne, who was the cause of her death. As the soul of KINDNESS, of course, Mint forgave her.

Later that day, Mint finally told Ford how she was revived and he decided to try it on the other souls, putting their coffins not far from them , with clothes assigned to them. He and Mint left the lab and left it alone, ready to see the results the next day.

The rest of the day, Mint and Mabel were getting along, hanging out, they were getting along very well, because according to Ford 'Mabel is sometimes referred to as a kind person. Mint being the soul of KINDNESS, the two get along'. But he just said to Asgore and Toriel it was just a theory.

Before going to sleep, Dipper was practicing on having a good impression to the souls who will be revived tomorrow, since his impression with Mint was awkward. He buffered and Mint was a bit weirded out. Mabel teases at his practice, but he ignores it.

Meanwhile at the Dreemurr house, Frisk, Asriel and Chara greet Mint in the family. Since Asgore was painting the basement walls and transferring the things in there to the attic, Mint was going to sleep in Chara's room.

The three were in the room, and were chatting with their new sibling.

"Mint! I've always wondered, do you have powers?" Asriel asks.

"Yeah! I can make any types of shields, healing powers, and summon spears!" Mint replies, summoning a green spear.

"Cool!"Asriel exclaims. "I can't wait to learn more about you!"

"I can't wait to learn about you three!" Mint says. "You three are like, key important people in the story of the underground!"

"Well, I guess we'll do that another day, I'm tired." Frisk says, yawning.

The others agree and go to bed.
