Shun gulped as the point of the woman's sword touched his neck. Crouched on the ground with his own sword a few feet away, his heart raced as he looked up and gazed at her blood red pupils. There was no emotion on her pale, white face. Her light blue robe was full of bloodstains from the several dozen soldiers she had just killed. Behind her, a long iron tail with triangular spikes steadily waved. Was she taking pleasure in this? Perhaps. Her heart has already been consumed by darkness, after all. He thought.
He was in a kill or be killed situation. One wrong move and she would surely push that blade to his neck. He didn't want to die- no, not yet! There was a time in his life when he never really cared about anything or anyone, but Raye! She made him rethink about the choices he was making.
The events that transpired just the previous year flashed through his mind and he wondered, if things happened differently back then, would they be in this situation now?

Author's Note:
If I were to cast the main characters in this story, these stars would be my preference.
Shun Galvin
Raye Luminae
Yuu Drakon
I also believe that nothing beats the imagination of the reader
so if you want to imagine the characters as anime
or with a bit of western looks, then feel free to do so.
