⚠️Fire⚠️
'3 AM' Peter groaned as he sat up, staring at the alarm clock. His mind was running rampant, "I don't remember setting my alarm for 3, Karen?" He called, a hand on his forehead, the noise was killing him.
"There appears to be a fire in your building, Peter, everyone is out other then you." Karen lit up around the room, "You should leave immediately, Peter."
Peter got up, wobbling a bit, as he made his way to the door. He grabbed a coat and opened the door, being met with a face full of soot. He groaned, "god dammit" his teeth gritted together as he made his way to the exit. Moving through the fire. He heard a small cough, and then a whine, his eyes going wide. "Karen, where did that come from?"
Karen beeped and located the child, Peter moved towards him, "Hey, hey buddy, is going to be okay." He tried to reassure the coughing boy, he picked him up and placed him on his hip; looking for an exit.
He wrapped the boy in his coat, holding it over his mouth, "don't breathe in the smoke, keep this over your mouth." He explained, the boy held the coat over his nose. Peter could hear the kids lungs begin to clear up, he sighed in relief. His throat was beginning to hurt but he needed to get them out.
He saw the door and made a mad dash for it. Covering the kids head as he ran through a flame, nearly catching him on fire. The kid let out a whine in pain, "hey, hey it's okay, I'm getting you out of here." He rubbed circles into the kids back as he opened the door.
He walked out, hiding the kids face as he saw a bunch of cameras. His eyes began to hurt with all the flashes, but he made his way to the police line, "Hey, this kid was stuck in there. No one else is inside, I need you to take him to his parents." He told the officer, unwrapping the kid from his coat. The officer nodded and took the child, a woman came running up to them crying.
Peter looked around, noticing the group of tenants, he made his way over letting out a yawn. He saw his neighbor, the really cute one, was only in a pair of joggers and the night was cold. He moved over to him, "Hey, you look cold." Peter smiled at Wade.
Wade rolled his eyes, blowing into his fists, "Yeah, no duh sherlock." His tone was accusing but his eyes and goofy grin suggested other wise. "What you did, just now, saving that kid. That was very heroic of you." Wade nodded towards the crying woman and the child he had saved.
Peter nodded, "all in a days work, I'm just happy I noticed him." He leaned against a tree, offering his jacket to Wade. "Take it, you look like your freezing your ass off." He smiled as Wade took the jacket. "Thanks.." Peter rolled his eyes, "Peter, Peter Parker." Wade nodded, offering his hand, "Wade, Wilson."
Peter shook his hand, "To guys with names to match their last." he responded, Wade looked at him as if he had three heads. "You're very.. wordy." Wade spoke, his smile never leaving his cool face.
Peter nodded, "You know, I don't understand why people judge you. Your scars don't define who you are." Peter motioned to Wades face, of which he had been trying to hide. "I still think you're the cute neighbor."
Peter turned and saw Tony, "That's my ride for the night, stay safe Wade." He waved to Wade as he walked off. Leaving the older male confused.
Wade still hasn't given Peter back his jacket, it's been 13 years and they're married. He still has the jacket, he still wears it, he just refuses to give it back.
