GAZE

Prologue

I held her hand as tears started to drop from my eyes.

I can't stand this pain...

I don't know what to do...

"Why do you have to do this?"

"I have to..." I can see the tears from her eyes.

She have the most beautiful eyes in the world indeed.

"Di mo na ba ako mahal? Please sabihin mo, marunong naman ako mag-adjust bili na para ka namang others" I laughed trying to ease the pain while our tears are still falling.

"Palabiro ka talaga, kaya kita minahal eh"

"Mahal mo naman pala ako, bakit kailangan mo pa akong iwan?" I'm confused. I can't understand anything.

"I have to leave not because I want to, but because I have to" "I'm sorry Harris, but please don't make it hard for me" Her grip tightened.

Nasasaktan ko siya. Not physically but emotionally. I hate this. I can' t afford to lose the woman I love the most.

"I'm sorry, it's just that, I can't understand anything, I'm so dumb" I said trying to control my breathe.

"No you're not, It's all my fault, If only I have more options" She hugged me. I can feel her tears on my shoulder.

"Hindi ko alam kung saan ka pupunta, but please tell me that you love me" I plead still hugging her.

"I'm sorry I can't" Humiwalay siya mula sa pagkakayakap sakin habang umiiling.

She can't say it and it hurts so much. Damn!

"Why? Sabi mo minahal mo ako?" I asked her and it hitted me. Minahal.

She just smiled at me...

"Sometimes, people are meant for us just to meet and not to be with"

"I've got no more time, I have to leave"

She turned her back and started to walk slowly.

"Wait!"

She stopped walking and faced me again.

She looked at me with confusion visible on her
perfect face.

"If I cannot be with you, then please, let me gaze at your eyes for the last time"

I walked towards her and held her hand again for the last time.

I gazed at her eyes

"I won't regret that I fell inloved with these eyes, the same way I fell inloved with its owner"

Her grip tightened again.

"Goodbye"

I kissed her forehead.

I can feel the rush of cold wind into my skin.

As she started to turn into light and before she disappeared. We held our promises to each other.

"I promise that I will always gaze at you from afar, I may love someone other than you, but I'll never forget about you" I promised her.

"I may have left you, but I promise, I will find a way just to be with you" She promised.

"It might not be now, tomorrow or yesterday, but it won't be 'never'" And with that, she disappeared.
