Gone (a Zalfie fanfic)

Chapter 1

Alfie's POV

I rubbed my eyes and shot out of bed. It was my first day of school and I was already late. "ALFIE??!!" My mum called. "I ALREADY CALLED YOU FOUR TIMES!" I grabbed my bag and hurried down the stairs. "Im here mum." I packed my bag quickly and stuffed my messy hair into a beanie hat. "Alfie! You are late for school.", she sighed. "Yeah, well hurry up and get in the car then.", I answered back.

We arrived at my school. I couldn't wait to see my mates again. I stepped out the car and took my bag. "Hey hon, have a nice time and be careful okay! I dont want anything bad to happen to you. Please." I nodded while she kissed my forehead. I sighed.

Mum had been so cautious and caring ever since dad died 2 months ago. He walked into the road while looking at his phone and a car ran into him from around the corner. Mum cried every single day until this month. I calmed her down and soothed her, every time she started. She had been acting a bit differently towards the end of last month. But I guess she was just at the end of mourning and getting back into her actual life.

I missed dad too, all the memories of us together just made me want to cry. We did so much together and I wasn't sure if mum could cope. He was a big part of our family. I couldn't have had a better dad. I hope mum doesnt get married again. I just want my old dad back.

"Bye!" I waved at her. The car drove off and I stood facing the massive building and started walking. I tried to act cool, slinging my bag on one of my shoulders and my hands in my pockets. I saw one of my friends sitting on the bench texting someone.

"Hey Joe!" We did our amazing handshake that we both remembered from last year. "Hey Alf!" I slouched on the bench with him. "So, whatsup?" He asked me. "Well nothing really, apart from.....you know." He nodded in respect. "I know. Buddy, Im so sorry." I forced myself to smile. "Nah its okay." I stood up. "Anyway gotta go." I waved and we departed. First lesson.

I stared up at the ceiling in boredem. The teacher was talking about some difficult ratio problem, and I didnt have a clue what it was about. I looked across the table and saw the most beautiful person I had ever seen. I hadn't seen her before in school, she must have been the new girl every one was talking about. I must have been staring at her for too long as she was staring back at me looking slightly worried. I just grinned and slouched back in my chair. She smiled at me and then turned her head to face the board. "Alfie! What is the answer?" I turned my head and looked at the teacher. "Uhhh.....erm." I stuttered. "Can someone else help him?" Everyone was staring at me and I felt myself blush. Keep calm Alfie. Be chilled.

The next lessons went by slowly but it was finally break. I could find out that girls name. I saw her sitting on a bench outside the gardens. I casually walked towards her and sat down next to her. "Uh...hi. Im Alfie." She looked up at me and smiled. "I know." How did she know me when we hadnt even met yet? "Er how?" I asked. "Your friends told me." Was that good or bad? I tried chatting her up. "So you are?" ".... Zoe. Zoe Sugg." "Your new here eh?" "Yeah. I used to go to Downsy Hill Secondary school, but I had to move in year 8 because my dad had to work there and now we have moved here for year 9. I'm saying here for a while now, no more moving." I nodded.

"So, you single?" I asked. She laughed and said, "Oh Alfie, yes. But..." I interrupted her by saying, "But what?......." Looking a bit sad. "But, Im not ready for a relationship yet. I'm only 13!" I paused. I had already had 4 ex girlfriends that hadn't gone so well. "Well, you can be my guide, as I have no idea where I am, at the moment." I stood up and bowed. "Alfie at your service." We giggled and I showed her around.

She was such a sweet girl and I wanted her badly. I had to wait for the right time. I guess 13 could be a bit young?
