It's like the whole world just stopped and crashed with the information that she just heard.
She suddenly became light headed. She removed her glasses and wiped her face with her hands trying to have her blood pump into her face.
"Sorry. Uhm.." Deanna said shakily.
"It's okay take your time."
She looked over her shoulder trying to grasp some composure. She put her glasses again and spoke.
"Wha.. Ho.. What?" Deanna asked confusingly.
"Don't worry, we have the best equipment and program for this kind of things."
"How?" That was the only word that Deanna muttered.
"Leukemia, in most cases are hereditary. Do you have a family member that has it?"
"N-no, not-not that I know of."
"Well that is most cases, but in rare cases..."
Deanna wasn't listening anymore, his voice were inaudible. She was just looking at him as he was explaining medical terms that she haven't heard from her doctor friends, e.g. her ate, Pia and Jema.
"Do you understand?" Her doctor asked her.
"Yes." She said confusingly.
"You'll start the program on Monday."
"Monday? 20th?"
"Yes. Good thing you recognized and went here for tests as soon as the symptoms came. That was the first nose bleed? Right?"
"Y-yes." She lied thinking maybe that she can not do the program cause on Monday, she's graduating and on Wednesday she has a flight back to Philippines. And not bad mouthing our own country, the medical system is no better than here in New York.
"So just fill this up, and see you Monday." He gave her a piece of paper.
"Sure." She got a pen and started to write.

She was on her way out when she bumped into someone.
"Daisy!"
"Deanna."They both said.
"What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?"They both asked each other.
"Uhm, remember my mom? She has leukemia right? We transferred her here. They said that they have the best equipment here. You?"
" Uhm, I just felt nauseated earlier. I'm gonna fly back soon so I need to get checked."
"Ah. Well..."
Then she realized that she wanted to do something. With the new information that she just got, she wants to convince herself to stay and do the program.
So she asked her good friend."Can I see your mom?"
Daisy, of course, was shocked. In all the years that they were together almost every time, Deanna didn't asked to see any of her relatives except her brother.
"Sure, but why the sudden?" She asked curiously.
"I don't know. I'm leaving soon so I thought I will see that person that made my good friend Daisy and Doug." She said in a convincing way.
