The next day was pretty stressful.
I was making my way to the library during lunch since I obviously wouldn't be sitting with Skylar and Erik when I a familiar voice called my name.
I looked up to see who it was.
"Hailey?" Miles said whilst putting a hand on my shoulder,stopping me from walking further.
"Are you okay?I mean,you've been acting kind of weird lately and I wanted to know if you were okay." he said sincerely.
I smiled at how he worried about me and cared.
"Yea,just some things that are going on with Skylar and everyone." I replied,too tired to explain it.
"Oh,well I hope that clears up." he said shyly.
"Yea."
What else was there to say?
He cleared his throat.
"So um, I've been meaning to ask you a question since like,me and Jasmine broke up again."
What?I didn't hear about that.
"I wanted to know if you'd like to be my girlfriend?" he said,still shy.
I was shocked and didn't know what to say or do,so I just did what I've always wanted to do.
"Yea,I'd like that" I said smiling.
He smiled and his eyes lit up.
"Yes!I mean, yea cool" he said and he walked away,pumping his fist in the distance.
I laughed as his cuteness. I couldn't believe that after all this time, I finally was with him.

The next day, I walked through the halls with confidence. I was with someone popular which would most likely bring me to the top of the popularity ladder too.
People were giving me looks for some reason,but I ignored it and just interpreted it as jealousy or just growing respect.
Erik and Laura came up to me and asked who I was dating since there was Taken in my bio. I told them and they both looked at eachother, their mouths hanging open in perfect O's.
"Oh." they both said in unison.
"Why?Is there something wrong?" I asked,a bit of coldness in my voice.
"Well, I just think he isn't the best person for you." Erik said with hand movements to emphasize it.
"Last time you said that, you know what happened." I said and put a hand on my hip,adding sass to show that I'm stronger and not afraid to stand up.
"I just don't want you to get...hurt." Laura said while Erik looked away.
"Well,you're just jealous because your last boyfriend was a year ago and he 'took advantage' of you when you got too drunk" I replied then flipped my hair and strutted away.It felt good to be part of of the fight,not to just watch it.
Little did I know,saying yes to Miles was the worst decision I'd ever make.
