Finally, my bus has arrived. Thankfully there is one seat that I can have all to myself. It’s at the front but I don’t mind, my stop isn’t too far. I put my headphones in and I look outside. This piece is so calming. As I look outside, I notice that all the flowers are in bloom. Everything is beautiful. The bus suddenly stops. I look to see that there is boy looking for a seat. Because there is none, he comes over to me. His deep, majestic blue eyes looking at me. They have to be the prettiest eyes I’ve seen. He speaks but I can’t hear him. But I figured that he wanted to sit next to me. So I pulled my black bag onto my lap and he sat next to me.

I wanted to know what this boy really looked like. So I took a quick glance. I then noticed that he was looking at me. I stared back for a few seconds, before it got really awkward I turned my head. His hair and eyes, so beautiful. I want to look at him again, but my stop has arrived. I tell him that I’m at my stop and he moves from his seat so that I could go.

I get off the bus. My work is only a few shops away. I eventually arrive and my boss greets me and tells me what he wants done. Then he arrives. The same boy from the bus. Had he followed me? No way. He comes up to me and my heart stops for a second.

‘Hello, I’m here to look for some piano music from Joe Hisaishi,’ he says to me in a soft and gentle voice. I want to scream. Joe Hisaishi. This boy knows Joe Hisaishi. No way. ‘Awesome, it’s this way,’ I say with a smile. I want to say something else.

‘So, do you like his music?’ I say, finally.

‘Oh, me? I love it,’ he replies. YES!!!!!!  I’m so happy right now.

‘I love it too, I especially love his song “the name of life piano,” I fall in love with it every time.’ The boy gives me a gentle smile back. He gives me a book and says that he wants to buy it. I take him to the counter and give it to him. But after I give him the book he stands there with his head looking at the floor.

‘What’s wrong, are you feeling alright?’ I say really worried thinking that this boy might be feeling sick or something.

‘Oh, well. I was wondering if I could get your number,’ he said in a really soft voice. I smiled back at him. I go and write my name and mobile number on a piece of paper.

‘Belle, what a nice name. My name is Andrew, but you can call me Drew,’ he looked up. He gave me a big smile and skipped out of the shop. Drew is so cute. I hope I can see him later.

That night I was at the piano playing “the name of life piano”. My phone then begins to ring. I pick up and on the other side of the phone is silence.

‘Hello?’

‘Hello, Belle? This is Drew, the guy from the music shop.’ He said in his beautiful soft voice.

‘Hello. So, what are you doing now?’ I said, just out of curiosity.

‘Thinking about yo… Nothing really.’ He replied. I didn’t really hear him. I wonder what he said.

‘Tomorrow are you working? I want to show you something.’ He says after a long silence.

‘Yes, I’m working.’ I wonder what he wants to show me.

‘Okay, bye.’ He hangs up. Well, okay… I then continue to practice.

The following day I catch the bus and again. He comes to sit next to me again and we start to talk about Joe Hisaishi and his works. When my stop came we both went out and walked together. Like always I greeted my boss and started work. But before I could get behind the counter I hear music coming from the piano at the back of the shop. The sound of the piano was very faint so it was hard to identify the song.

So, I walked towards the piano and I see Drew playing “The name of life piano”. It’s so beautiful. I come towards him and I look at his long fingers swipe across the piano, and his beautiful eyes looking down at the keys. This is beautiful. I want to cry. Everything about this is beautiful. My heart starts beating really fast and I don’t know how to control it. I try to look away, but I can’t. My eyes are glued to this boy.

After he finished the piece he looked at me and bowed. He left the shop without saying a word. I was speechless. I couldn’t stop thinking about him for the rest of the day…

The next day I got onto the bus and put my headphones in. Like usual he came and sat next to me. But this time he reached over and took my headphone and put it in his ear. He then looked at me with big eyes. And yes, I had been listening to “The name of life piano”. Before I knew it his face became closer to mine. I closed my eyes, not knowing what to do. Nothing happened. So I opened my eyes and his jaw is right there. He then whispers into my ear…

‘I really like you. The way you smile, your love towards music, everything. I love it. Sometimes I wish that you would love me as much as you love music.’ I blush. I don’t know what to say. I’ve never been confessed to before. My heart can’t stop pounding. I look at him. His face only a few centimetres away from mine. I want to say I love you back but I’m just too happy. He takes his warms hands and places them in mine. We get off the bus and then we both walk together to the music shop holding hands and listening to our song together.
