♡STEVEN
After what felt like an instant which I took a fancy to last forever, suddenly, she let off my hand, enunciating, "um, I was just - "
"Trying to get back to your senses?" I teased her.
"Yeah," she smiled, fixed her gaze to the menu, and continued, "anyway, since we've divided our lunch into two, I'm a bit hungry," she said, making a baby face, puffing her cheeks, and carving her lips into a tiny pout.
"And very cute," I remarked her cute and slightly chubby cheeks, in a voice that was but merely a whisper over my breathe, so she couldn't hear it. She wasn't totally a perfect slim figure, but somewhat a tiny bit healthier, just enough to make her adorable, and her cheeks of the type that anyone would like to grab and pull.
She grabbed the menu, and made weird faces glancing at it, "I can't in a million years muster the strength to eat animals, ugh!" She remarked, with mixed feelings of grief and disgust.
"Yeah, me too, my family has been - "
"Uh no, it isn't about family and religion or stuff like that," she interrupted, and after a slight pause, went on, "I mean it is undoubtedly an aspect, but not as prominent as my love for the creatures," she sighed. "How can anyone eat them, I mean, come on, imagine you're a little chick, just hatched from your egg, you wish to live your life doing peep peep merrily, but someone gigantic and horrid picks you up, puts you in a cage, and tells you you've to sit there until you're fat enough. You understand nothing, because you're a tiny chick, and that mammoth keeps feeding you. You think he's very caring, therefore he's kept you in a cage to protect you, and you get attached to him. But, one day, he picks you up, you think he's gonna let you roam around finally, doing that peep peep, and you become happy, instead, there's you in one hand and a dagger in the other, and you face the horror of death, thrusted upon you from the very person you trusted," her voice trailed off, lips curving into a sigh.
I was awestruck. I was astonished. I was fucking flabbergasted!
God damn. Does anyone even think that much! I had no words. Nobody had ever put it that way, although I knew that the rules of science say that they feel immense amount of pain when they're slaughtered, I never thought about it like she did; this girl here made me think through my heart.
"How soft are you, Em?"
"What?"
"I've never seen someone whose convictions match yours, you're too benign," I said, in the most polite manner ever.
My heart melted.
"These are just my conceptions, and oh, shit! You must think I'm stupid, right?"
"More like, a cute baby, an innocent, soft baby."
"Whoa - "
"Hey, I mean you're too benevolent, Emma, please don't take it otherwise," I said as I saw a frown taking over her pretty face.
"Um, maybe I am, well anyway, would you like to have some noodles?"
"Of course," I said, and she stood up to go toward the counter.
