8. Game Day

Kaila POV

My alarm goes off signaling its time for me to wake up. It was 7 in the morning and game was at 11 which means I had to be there at 9:30.

"LiAngelo get up" I say to him going into the bathroom to shower.

When I come back out Gelo was gone. It was about 8:20 and UCLA and the drive was a good hour. I put on my warm up clothes and grab my bag.

When I get downstairs Shakira was sitting in the kitchen at the island eating some fruit.

"You ready" she asks me.

Shakira was driving to the game and I was just going to ride with her. Makena and Zoey were going to ride with my dad to game.

"Yeah let's go" I respond to her grabbing a piece of pineapple out her bowl.

"Hey Kaila,  get comfortable on your 3 point shot in warmups. I got a couple things drew up for you today" coach calls me over.

"Alright coach no problem" I respond to her.

I put my headphones on and turn on my pregame playlist. I grab a ball and go warmup on the court.

"Alright lady Bruins.....LETS GET READY FOR YOUR STARTING LINEUP. Starting at guard JADENN...OWENSSS!! At two guard....SHAKIRA CHARLES!! AT YOUR SMALL FOWARD.....KAILAAAAA CHARLESS!! PROTECTING YOUR RIM...BRYNN MASIKEWICH!! LASTLY AT THE FOUR....TREASURE HUNT!!".  The announcer calls out the starting lineup.

Everyone gets in position for tip off. The ball goes in the air and the game begins.

The game was over and we lost 81-62. First game of the season was a blowout.

"Tonight Washington did not beat you guys. You ladies beat yourselves. You went out there and looked sloppy. Owens! You are the point guard on this team. I expect you to make the right decision with the ball. You see your shooter open you get it to them. Instead you played selfish. That will get you no where. Practice Thursday morning be there. I will not be embarrassed." Coach says leaving out the locker room.

"Jaden is everything good? I had some open looks that me and you both saw." I ask her while changing.

"Well I didn't pass it. I'll get you next time dude." She responds stuffing her things into her bag and walking off.

When I walk out my dad, LiAngelo, Melo, Makena, and Zoey were standing there. I give them all a hug and we wait for Shakira to come out.

Nate Charles- good game baby girl.

Kaila- thanks dad but we lost.

Zoey- so I guess now wouldn't be a good time to tell you that we had planned a surprise win party.

Kaila- who the hell is we?

Zoey- me and Melo.

Melo- I was forced.

Makena- yeah he was.

Zoey- hush, but it's at their house and your going so I don't wanna hear it.

Shakira comes out the locker room and joins us. She had her headphones in so she didn't wanna speak to nobody.
