the first time choi seungcheol saw lee yejin was when she got her car towed into svt's auto shop. she was rubbing her temples as she listened to seungkwan, the receptionist, list out the never ending laundry list of things that had to be done to fix her car. he couldn't help but wonder how her car got in that shape in the first place.
as he took a sip of water, holding the bottle with his grease covered hands, the thought crossed his mind; 'it would be cheaper to just buy a new car'.
yejin was shocked hearing those words come out of the receptionist's mouth. he had cute chubby cheek and a smile on his face as he told her it would be cheaper to just buy a new car. she was skeptical, wondering if that could even be possible; but her headache was worsening, so she thought the best option would be to agree.
seungcheol watched as dokyoem took her into the office of the shop to show her the car models available to be bought through instalments. he was good at reading people, and immediately, he knew; she was going to buy the car with his birthdate as the plate number.
"this one strikes me as a car you would like. i can imagine you behind the wheel," dokyeom said showing yejin a photo of a vintage replica car, a pretty one for that matter. "it's a modern car, just that the exterior has been replaced with a vintage replica exterior."
as if seungcheol could predict the future, she bought it. it was her first major investment since she left university, so it really felt like a unique moment for her. as she walked out of the office holding the documents to the car she now owned, her eyes lingered on one of the guys in the shop.
but this wasn't a korean drama. time didn't slow down like you'd imagine it would. yejin felt her heart racing with anticipation as she got into the driver's seat of her new car. a new beginning for her, in a new car with the plate number 9588.

yejin's heart finally slowed down as she pulled into her parking spot in the carpark of her apartment building. she spent just a few moments sitting, staring out of her new car. maybe it was just her being too sensitive and thinking too much, but she really couldn't help but wonder what this new beginning meant for her.
she entered the elevator and pressed the button for the 17th story of her building. she looked forward to go home and tell her room mate, park hana, the joyous news. pushing over the door of her apartment, hana immediately snapped her head from the tv to the door.
yejin raised her keys from her side as the new car key dangled from her keychain. hana's eyes widened in surprise, jumping up from her comfortable position on the couch.
park hana was yejin's best friend since they entered college. there was a funny misunderstanding that had lead to them becoming friends, but tl;dr (too long; didn't read), hana was a film major while yejin was a photography major and they had crossed paths one too many times to ignore each other.
